Beryl advised Caroline to rest up while Eddison was in surgery. She was pregnant after all. However, Caroline refused to listen.

She then went out to buy a pillow for Caroline.

The operation started at five in the morning and lasted around an hour and a half. 

Soon enough, the surgeon emerged from the operating room looking relieved.

When everyone saw the surgeon, they immediately rushed over and asked, "Doctor, how's the patient?"

"The operation was very successful. We've managed to remove the splinter from Mr. Zellweger's leg, but his fever has not subsided. He'll be under observation."

"We will have to keep Mr. Zellweger in the intensive care unit for the time being. This is to prevent his wound from getting infected," the doctor added.

Jack was shocked to hear that there had been a splinter in Eddison's leg. He hurriedly asked, "Will he still be able to use his leg?"
