At some point, I lost track of time as I lay on the ground, gazing up at the vast expanse of the sky. Without warning, a sensation of drifting consciousness enveloped me, and I soon found myself sprawled on the freezing-cold ground. The chill was so intense that it felt like flames licking at my skin, jolting me awake in a sudden panic. With a startled gasp, I shot up to my feet, my senses instantly alert to the icy grip of the unfamiliar terrain.
"Wait, skin!" I exclaimed, a surge of alarm coursing through me. Hastily, I looked down to find my once-familiar, lovely chocolate-brown skin, along with my little brother, now exposed and dangling freely. Shock rippled through me as I felt a biting cold breeze sweep over my body, causing me to shiver involuntarily. Despite the chill, my overriding sensation was one of utter confusion.
Attempting to make sense of the situation, I instinctively tried to summon my status display to assess what was happening. However, my efforts proved futile as no screen materialized before me, leaving me stranded in a state of bewildered disorientation.
"What the hell is going on?" I muttered in disbelief, my voice heavy with confusion and apprehension. I cast a slow, bewildered glance around at my unfamiliar surroundings, but before I could even begin to process the situation, the biting cold brought me to an abrupt halt.
In a desperate bid for warmth, I wished fervently for some form of protection. To my astonishment, my wish seemed to manifest itself in reality. Suddenly, a thick coat enveloped my body, accompanied by long jeans and heavy boots. The newfound garments provided a comforting warmth that I had sorely lacked ever since finding myself in this strange and unsettling place.
"I wish I had a cup of hot chocolate," I vocalized, half in jest and half in hopeful curiosity, testing the limits of this newfound power. To my astonishment, the universe seemed to comply with my whims once again. A steaming cup of hot chocolate materialized at my feet, its warmth melting the snow around it and sending tendrils of rich aroma into the chilly air.
This sudden realization sparked an idea within me, prompting me to speak aloud once more, eager to explore the extent of this inexplicable phenomenon.
"I want a piece of paper that tells me where I am," I stated with a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty, prompting the appearance of a piece of paper in my hand. As I unfolded it, my eyes widened in surprise at the simple yet profound message it bore: "Your Mind." This revelation momentarily stunned me, but I refused to let it deter my determination to explore this surreal environment.
Now that I was no longer preoccupied with the cold, I took a closer look at my surroundings. I noticed a series of bookshelves scattered throughout the area, some partially buried under snow while others were only lightly dusted with it. Several books rested on the shelves, but I also observed a number of books strewn haphazardly about, disregarding any semblance of order. It was as if the elements themselves were engaging in a chaotic dance with the literature scattered across this enigmatic landscape.
Upon noticing the bookshelves, I wasted no time in approaching one that was partially buried under snow. Without hesitation, I retrieved a book from its icy grasp and eagerly examined the cover. The title, "Childhood," caught my attention, leaving me slightly surprised by the thematic choice.
With newfound determination, I embarked on a quest to explore the contents of each bookshelf, meticulously reading the covers of every book within reach. Some titles, like "Basic Knowledge" or "Common Sense," appeared thick and weighty, while others, such as "Love Experience" or "Favorite Music," seemed relatively slender. Yet, the thickness of the books was of little importance compared to the insight they promised to offer.
As I immersed myself in this literary odyssey, I gradually began to comprehend the nature of my surroundings, finding solace and understanding within the pages of my own mind.
