Daedric stared blankly at the document in front of him, barely registering the words. His father's voice echoed through the grand hall, outlining policies aimed at improving the lives of the commoners, but Daedric's mind wasn't present in the court.
"Crown Prince, did you hear what I just said?" King Iramo's voice, calm yet commanding, reverberated as he leaned back on the throne, his sharp gaze fixed on his son.
Startled from his reverie, Daedric blinked and quickly lowered his gaze. "My deepest apologies, Father. My thoughts were elsewhere," he responded softly, his tone betraying the conflict within him.
"The Crown Prince must focus on the matters of the court if he is to lead this kingdom in the future," King Iramo admonished, disappointment seeping into his otherwise composed tone.
Daedric immediately rose from his seat, bowing his head in respect. "I apologize once again, Father," he said.
