章 35: An Unexpected Visitor

Ren had a strange dream. In it, he became some sort of immortal, and his system was his spiritual beast. He forgot most of the details, but he vividly remembered the giant, fluffy monster that looked so docile and adorable. 

 A soft smile faded from Ren's sleepy face as he noticed the stranger standing in his room.

'Ren! You are finally awake.' The system waged its tail as it settled down on Ren's bed.

The still-dazed Ren couldn't understand the sudden enthusiasm of his cub. He sat up on his bed, his eyes focused on those familiar red eyes.

The ignored cub nudged Ren, reminding him about the unexpected visitor. 'He's from the detective team... He might be here to ask about Lyra.'

If Ren had not been in a sleepy daze, he might have noticed that the system said the last sentence in a strange tone. It was as if it wasn't telling Ren, but rather convincing itself of the said possibility.
