Taking a sniper position Maiya readies her weapon viewing Sakura and Rin walking around to locate any Masters. She steadies her breathing using the scope to aim as she speaks in a neutral tone, "Steel the mind, heart, and soul. And…"

Taking the shot at them from the distance the bullet suddenly vanished. Her eyes were alarmed as it was erased as she began to get up to escape recognizing this technique nearing sunset.
But just as she turned her eyes met with Mash with a disappointed frown on his face-recognizing the woman who said in a confused tone, "… Maiya Hisau. I didn't expect to see you return I'd half expected you to commit suicide losing your Master."
Maiya didn't bother entertaining any thoughts of hearing the Master of Lancer out as she drew her firearms out and opened fire on him. While doing so she immediately used her Command Seals to summon her Servant, 'By the order of my Command Seals Assassin come to me now!'

Shooting using her Steyr AUG she fired open on him. However, using his [Unseen Hands] he stopped them in mid-air, and the submachine gun was crushed in Maiya's hand through as the bullets dropped.
But that was enough time for EMIYA to hide eyes glaring down at Mash using his [Presence Concealment] nearly at the highest Rank of Rank-A+. He waited for the chance, but Maiya didn't let up.
Maiya drew out her combat knife after tossing away her former submachine gun. She attempted to stab him, but Mash grabbed her arm and forced her to drop the knife by applying pressure with his grip.
Maiya switched to a cruder tactic of kicking Mash in the nuts only to find it was ineffective with a bored expression asking in a bored tone, "You do know nothing you do will do nothing to me right? Just –"

Mash's eyes widened despite his passive skill [Armor of Fafnir: Blood Armor of the Evil Dragon] he was shot through as pain soon followed allowing Maiya to escape holding her handgun with a victorious smirk on her face.
Mash curled clenching in unimaginable pain coursing through him. He only glared intently as Maiya held her handgun in question harming him greatly bypassing his [Armor of Fafnir] skill.
But this handgun isn't any ordinary type of gun. Mash immediately used his [Observe] skill to determine why that weapon worked against him. When he did, he read the info regarding the firearm in question in shock.

Black Barrel is one of the Seven Superweapons of Atlas, one of seven weapons developed and kept by Atlas of the Mage's Association.
Holding the gun in her hand Assassin EMIYA was cautiously looking at the situation as Maiya glared hatefully at him talking down to him in a disdainful tone, "How does it look now to be at the other end? To be the one running? Where's your confidence that broke my Master… Tell me now Mash Bastion!!!"
Steadily holding her Barrel Replica having the upper hand he remained silent not giving her a response. Readying another shot Mash reacted activating his Authority of Greed, [My World] stopping time when he sprang up to attack.
EMIYA noticing this reacted as well in that moment activating his Noble Phantasms in that moment [Chronos Rose] and [Phantasm Punishment]. In that moment EMIYA reacted to stop the attack.
EMIYA's main Noble Phantasms is [Chronos Rose]. Ability to manipulate one's own time flow. It is an ability Emiya possessed during his lifetime that uses "Innate Time Control (Time Alter)" as the basis, and it is a technique that has "Time Manipulation", the magical research transmitted down his family lineage, reformed for the use of combat.
EMIYA's second Noble Phantasm is [Phantasm Punishment]. A knife that has the power of the double attributes of "Severing" and "Binding" – Emiya's own Origin – put into it. It causes fatal damage to opponents that possess either Magic Circuits, Magic Crests or anything like those inside their bodies.
However, when he did Mash saw both react as his [Unseen Hands] touched both their faces lightly as he brought himself out of the damage that gun dealt using his Authority of Envy, [Everlasting Love] to immediately heal himself.

Soon he licked the left palm of his hand then his head was immediately flooded with information of licking my lips and enjoying the meal with a satisfied tone, "Mmm… that's an interesting development. Kiritsugu Emiya became the Counter Force dog huh? Quite an ironic turn of events."
When Mash devoured both their memories and skills, he saw a pop-up screen obtaining new skills for himself. He smiled content with the results taking the Barrel Replica into his own hands saved into his [Sub-Space].

Time resumed as both Master and Servant fell to the ground unconscious losing their memories and self by the Authority of Gluttony, [Gluttony]. Memories and talent from both targets filled his mind as he smiled seeing EMIYA using [Observe] on him. Mash was mainly curious about him checking his status in the progress reading his info.

By pressing his foot over the Heroic Spirit's head died left defenseless easily gaining that 80 EXP in one shot. Upon doing so he saw his screen and smiled getting a rare item drop from him as well.

The dropped item that Mash receives looks to be an ordinary combat knife. But even he can tell the Mana stealthily radiated as he spoke curious, "[Observe]. I wonder what this one can do. Let's see the screen says…"

Mash smiled seeing he managed to obtain such an item into his inventory. However, his eyes now wander towards Maiya with a frown present on his face sighed, "Sigh… it sucks eating people's memories knowing the reason why they do their actions. Just allowing you to live is enough of a punishment with a blank slate."
Turning around Mash soon began to leave the area leaving only Maiya the only person left alive from the encounter. Only 5 Heroic Spirits remained in the Holy Grail War…

[Tohsaka Manor]
Returning to the Tohsaka Manor at almost sunset Rin left to her own devices after coming to learn some dark history of the previous war and conflicts with Mash knowing he and Kariya saved Sakura.
In the meantime, Mash took the chance to kick back and relax before the upcoming fight against Gilgamesh. He was on the manor's main balcony sitting down on a chaise longue calming his nerves.
He paused when he felt eyes on him. Soon enough, the door to the balcony opened as Sakura entered asking him nervously, "Excuse me. Mash?"
He could tell she was nervous about something judging her expression, so he made sure to give her a comforting smile to ease her worries, "Did you need anything, or did you come to see me because you're worried about little old me?"
Sakura muttered slightly before she finally replied in a meek tone gathering the courage to talk to him, "I-well… um, I suppose both? Yes, well, I saw you by your lonesome, and well… I mustered up the courage to talk to you. I mean, if it's a bother, then –"
Before she could continue Mash offered her to join her unbothered with a genuine smile on his face, "You? A bother? Nonsense! Come, come, sit down and relax! We've got lots of time to talk."
She hesitantly came forward and sat down with Mash asking in a curious tone about her with genuine curiosity, "How have you been doing so far? Any regrets come to mind?"
Sakura twirled her fingers around a bit embarrassed judging by the red shade on her cheeks as she answered fidgeting lightly, "… All things considered, I can only remember the good times. Even now, with everything that's happened, I feel happy. If I regretted something, it'd be that I didn't get to see you one last time or thank you for everything you both did."
Mash understood what she was talking about crossing his arms and nodding his head in understanding as he spoke in a respectful tone, "He gave his life so that you could have a better future. You're already thanking him by living the life he would want you to have. How's life regarding your family?"
Sakura thanked him with a gentle smile on her face feeling at ease as she continued speaking gazing at the sunset, "Big sister and I were living on our own until recently. Our mother… passed away."
Mash curtly nodded his head understanding her to a degree. He gave a cheeky grin that only made her fit of giggling that much more intensified. After a while, she calmed down and spoke in a confident tone, "You know, I think I never told anyone this, but a part of me wanted to participate in the war."
This simply raised an eyebrow of interest from Mash as he asked in a curious tone, "Oof? Rin would be nagging you to hell and back if she heard that. Siblings can be quite overprotective like that."
Sakura gazed down at her hands curtly smiling as she replied to his response in a reminiscing tone, "I know, but I couldn't help it. A part of me wanted to enter the war in the beginning because I had a wish in mind. It was a silly, selfish wish, but to my surprise, it got fulfilled right from the start…"
Mash asked in a curious tone leaning back on his chaise longue, "How so?"
Sakura's face blushed as she answered clenching her hands together with the person who saved her from her hell in a happy tone, "Because well… I just wanted to see you again. A part of me thought I could use the Grail to meet him again. I wanted to see you, at least once, and express my gratitude. But you're here now, so I can finally say what I've always wanted to say…"
She stood up to her full height, with him doing the same. Then she gave him the most tearful, heartfelt smile he had ever seen from her, "Thank you. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for reuniting me with my family. Thank you… for giving me my life back…"
Mash could only give her a soft smile as he enveloped her in a gentle embrace, letting her cry tears into his chest while muttering thank you, thank you, thank you repeatedly. He made sure to support Sakura who was allowing her to cry into his chest with a fond smile caressing her head, 'Goodness, what an earnest girl. The least I could do was stay there and accept her grateful words. Well, that and make sure she reached a happy ending. But judging by how joyful she sounded now; I think she already reached it.'
Rin could be seen looking at the outside with an uncomfortable expression on her face gazing between the two…
