章 3: Ch.3 Party/Leveling
Clearing the misunderstanding between the two, Kai breathed a sigh of relief as Mirage didn't seem to be as annoying as he once thought, instead, Kai couldn't help but be thankful to have a party knowing how hard it is to grind at the early stage of the game, especially with his magic.
Plus, Kai doesn't mind the company as Mirage continues talking about some random stuff while he remains quiet and listens. This also helps Kai size up and learn more about Mirage.
Heading to the monster spawn area, the two quickly arrive at the exit as Mirage stops talking.
"Let's go kill some monsters or we might get left behind by others," Kai noted seeing that more and more players are starting to grind.
The two rush toward a spot where many goblins can be seen as they take a fighting style
Mirage took the lead as she cast her spell.
"Ice Spear!" She shouted as 3 ice appeared above her.
The ice flew toward the goblins hitting 2 in the process while one missed.
"My turn!" Kai shouted as he rushed toward the goblins with a dagger in hand.
Kai obtained this when he opened the beginner pack though he didn't manage to experiment with All-Seeing-Eyes since Mirage kept bugging him.
Back to the battle, The goblins tried to fight back but their attack pattern was simple, and being a Royal Elf, Kai already had superior stats compared to most players let alone a beginner monster like a goblin. Kai manages to dodge the goblin's attacks easily as he kills them all one by one.
[Ding! you earned 18 exp]
[Ding! you earned 17 exp]
[Ding! you earned 15 exp]
"Well, this is easy," Mirage noted.
Since the two are in a party, the expense they receive is only 75% percent of the 100% they will be getting when they are solo.
"Let's continue." Kai simply said as he raised his hand.
"Ice spear." Kai cast with a cold tone as 5 ice spears appeared on top of him.
The spears hit 5 goblins, manipulating the spear was easy for Kai as he could control his magic like an extension limb.
"Hey! That's my magic!" Mirage protested as she cast another Ice spear.
This time she manages to hit all of the spears killing three more goblins.
For the remaining two, Kai simply decapitated their heads.
[Ding! You leveled up to level 2!]
"Status" Kai whispered as a blue interface appeared in front of him.

'So 10 unallocated points every time I level up huh' Kai thought to himself as the corner of his lip curls
Just like him, Mirage had also leveled up and received 10 unallocated points.
Closing the Status, The two continued farming as many goblins as they could.
After three hours or so, Kai and Mirage manage to hit level 10 as the synergy between them improves.
[Ding! Player 'Chrollo' achieved level 10 and we're now able to possess a grimoire.]
'Finally' Kai thought knowing how impactful grimoire is especially for him.
"Did you receive the notification like me?" Mirage asked seeing the blue screen in front of Kai.
"Yea let's go get some grimoire first," Kai remarked as he walked back to the village.
"Hey wait for me!" Mirage shouted as she ran towards Kai.
The Grimoire Tower wasn't far from the village exit as the two quickly arrived after a few minutes of walking.
Outside, the two found a dozen or so players waiting while a timer could be seen floating in front of the door"
"Let's also wait," Kai commented while roaming his eyes to the other players, observing them.
'18 or so.' Kai thought counting all the players waiting.
He turned his head toward Mirage but saw her staring intensely at a young man to her right.
The man has spiky black hair, with black ethnicity.
'He seems familiar.' Kai noted,
"You know him?" Kai whispered catching Mirage off guard.
"A-Ah yes, he was the son of a rich person," Mirage commented.
"Ok," Kai said with a tone that was of zero interest.
"You're so boring," Mirage commented seeing Kai's lack of interest.
The conversation stopped as at this moment the countdown had finally ended.
Soon, the door opens as people walk toward the very center and Kai looks around him in amazement.
'It looks the same in the anime.' Kai thought seeing thousands of books stacked from the bottom to the very top of the tower.
"Welcome, future wizards." An old man standing on a platform above stated as his voice echoed throughout the room.
The old man, who has a beard that could trample a certain NBA player, was wearing a wizard coat partnered with a big wizard hat.
"You are all here today, to receive your grimoire that will be your partner through the very end." The wizard added as his eyes roamed at every single player below.
"Your grimoire is your treasure so take extra care of it, that's all bye young wizards!"." The wizard ended his speech as his whole body turned into a bunch of butterflies that flew toward the very top of the tower.
'They overdid themselves huh.' Kai praised the people who program such designs.
Finally, the ceremony began as dozens or so grimoire lit up and floated on top of Kai and the others' heads. It then flew toward their respective owner. In front of Kai, a book that shone brightly compared to others flew in front of him. It caught everyone's attention as they turned their heads at him.
Suddenly, Two more lights that were almost as bright appeared once again in Kai's right direction.
Kai looked and saw that it was the young man that Mirage was staring at earlier and Mirage herself.
The man could also be seen staring straight at Kai as the two share a few seconds just staring at each other.
Finally, Kai moved his sight from the man back to his grimoire which was floating in front of him.
'So this is my grimoire."
