'What the... it was THAT simple? What even happened here? 'Singularity... I remember this seems to be a certain unofficial term proposed by some doctor a few years ago in his not very well accepted quirk doomsday theory.'
With his Academic Talent working in full motion his brain quickly recalled all the information he had previously seen or read related to the particular matter.
From what he could recall it was a theory that proposed about the ever growing power and complexity of quirks with each new generation being a mix or an improvement of some sort of the previous one, something that would eventually lead quirks beyond the point of singularity where quirk becomes too powerful and difficult to control.
Although according to the theory supporting studies most quirks would depend on a situation where they 'awaken' to actually begin evolving beyond a controllable level.
The quirk's panel said Talent Redistribution reached singularity... in other words gathering 1000 TTP caused the quirk to 'stock up' enough to awaken reaching what would be deemable the level beyond the point of singularity?
'It's far-fetched but seems to be the case... I don't have enough time to worry about it though, the more pressing issue is that meditation broke through the previous 'ceiling' and something new popped up on the panel.
'Übermensch... I seem to have read it somewhere during my previous time, right it's Nietzsche's superman. If I remember right it was the individual that transcends the petty needs of 'man' and moves beyond illusions to live and take joy in the here and now of life on Earth. He affirms his own character, and has the power and fortitude to say 'yes' to all of life's joys and all of life's pains.'
Although a tad bit confused about why exactly he gained such a 'perk' after leveling meditation beyond human levels he didn't care too much about the definition though.
Because at the moment his Survival talent that had previously been quite silent was finally giving him a faint intuition that this perk might be the way of solving his predicament.
Deciding to trust survival as it wouldn't be the first time it saved his ass, Thaumiel took a quick look around and ignoring Kaminari's still confused expression to his right he slowly sunk into his usual meditative state to try and sense what exactly this perk was.
As his head slowly emptied he at first didn't feel anything but with a bit more of digging he soon seemed to 'feel out' a type of 'metaphysical muscle' he didn't know existed before.
It was not exactly a muscle but Thaumiel felt this was the most intuitive way of describing what he discovered.
After a bit of hesitation he eventually decided on 'flexing' this muscle which seemed to be the equivalent of activating the perk's switch inside his head.
In a split second the world seemed to change, or it's better to say the way Thaumiel perceived the world changed.
Upon exiting the meditative state Thaumiel eyes were incomparably clear and unrestrained.
Not an ounce of doubt, distraction, fear, apprehension or any other sort of emotion that could possibly intrude with or impact his thinking existed.
In a way the current Thaumiel seemed even more inhuman than even a sociopath like Makima.
'Free from definitions of good and bad, morals and laws with his thoughts only dedicated and lined by his own capacities and moral compass... It really does feel like superman.'
With now incomparably clear eyes Thaumiel once again analyzed the situation. Moving all the talent points available to socialization he fully utilized the passive buff it got on the are, making his acuity toward grasping the emotional state of others and juding their responses based of their personalities behaviours and observable habits.
Next was making use of all that information he could percive and combine and start to plan how to best direct and then solve the situation.
With over a thousand points in the talent the process didn't last a few seconds before everything was understood in his mind and a plan slowly began to take shape.
How to solve the hostage situation and his problems without getting a single child hurt or exposing anything critical about himself in the process...
'A bit tricky but doable, for everything to work out though I'll need a little help.'
Unnarrowing his eyes Thaumiel put on a 'friendly' smile and turned to face Kaminari who was beside him.
"Denki-kun, do you like heroes?"
...
Sitting behind the teacher's desk Sisifus's mood was becoming increasingly lower as the conversation with the police was not going according to his wishes whatsoever.
To begin with, from him getting to this school to taking the kids hostage, everything had been done under the heat of the moment and didn't really follow any plans.
Which led him to trapping himself in a corner where the situation was only more and more disadvantageous for him.
Thankfully though, as expected by the matter of holding over 20 kids hostages was no joke whatsoever, he knew the police and heroes didn't dare neglect.
Although a villain taking someone hostages might not make too big of a splash on the news with how people were desensitized, it would be a whole other matter if even one of those kids were to be severely hurt or die.
While it's not too uncommon for civilians to end up hurt in heroes and villains confrontations, a tally of 20 kids dying would be too big of a disaster for both the heroes involved and the police.
Thus Sisifu had pinned his hopes on the fact that the police, being more desperate than him, would make contact first.
And as expected they even somehow managed to send him messages through his phone to talk with him.
Most likely a hero or officer with a signal interfering quirk of some sort that found and identified his phone allowing for this communication channel to become a viable option.
With much thinking after somewhat calming down Sisifus did manage to come up with a 'viable' escape plan.
Within a few minutes of trading messages he demanded for a person that could perform long teleportations to be sent to him and thus used as his 'guaranteed' way of escaping.
And after he was gone the kids would naturally be free for the heroes to recover.
Of course, such a demand was but his own unreasonable delusion, as not to mention how rare long ranged space teleportation quirks were, the chances of the police allowing him to escape like that were also near zero.
Thus a long standing debating occurred from the two sides making Sisifu grow more and more unsatisfied before he finally issued one last warning cutting off all possibility of further discussion.
'Either send the guy I want in exactly one hour, or I'll begin to kill the kids one by one for every 10 minutes of delay.'
With such an ultimatum Sisifu turned off his phone and sat irritably as his eyes would ever so often drift toward the kids doing some origami.
Within his murky green colored eyes small hints of hesitation could be seen flashing by. They were quickly overwhelmed by a suffocating dark colored thick despair though as Sisifu began to steel his heart for the possibility he might actually have to begin to kill some kids in less than an hour.
He didn't 'want' to do it, but if it was for his survival and for a free life Sisifu would do...
Although he would feel a bit guilty, for him life, money and freedom ranked first before everything else.
'I'll do it...I'll fucking do it so you fuckers better bring me what I want...'
Things suddenly took an unexpected turn though as unexpectedly he saw one of the kids in the crowd raising their hands and looking his way.
"U-uhm Mr...?"
"Brat you better stay quiet, I don't want to listen to any of you talking right now."
"B-but I-I need to go..."
The blond kid said in a visible lowering voice as his face dodged Sisifu's eyes.
"Uh? Go? What the fuck do you mean brat?"
"I-I need to go to the bathroom..."
Stunned not having expected a kid to have the gal to actually ask such a thing, Sisifu briefly froze for a moment in place, not responding right away.
"I-I kinda need it as well..."
Said an equally cowardly and nervous looking white haired brat to his side.
"I don't give a flying fuck piss your pants if you want to go, don't you both dare leave that corner!"
Coming back to himself, the villain felt a bit speechless, as his eyebrows twitched, he began getting all the more annoyed with his brats.
'I'm pointing a gun at you bunch and you are worried about going to the bathroom brats?'
"B-but it's number 2..."x2
With these words Sisifu had black lines all over his forehead, this was a problem.
He was already stressed enough and he couldn't possibly imagine his state if the hole classroom started to smell of shit because the kids shat their pants
Feeling a sense of rising frustration, Sisifu glared at the two brats as he did a quick brainstorming before proceeding to get up.
Getting up from his chair he kept his 'muzzle hand' pointed at the kids as he made his way toward some of the kids' desks grabbing two small backpacks.
"You two get the fuck up and slowly come over."
With his commands the kids surrounding the two quickly slided a bit to the side leaving a small passage allowing for the blond and the white haired boy to walk out of the group and make their way to Sisifu's.
Throwing the two a back back each he gestures for them to move forward a bit toward the teacher's desk.
"Allright, one by one you hide under it and use it to... well do the things. No funny business kids or your heads are gonna roll."
He said manifesting a long metal blade with his left hand and placing it in the yellow haired kids chest while his muzzle hand kept pointing at the white haired one.
"The pale one goes first, you got two minutes."
Nodding the white haired boy's scared expression showing his vivid 'fear' of the gun pointed at his as he trembled made his way under the desk and crawled inside.
What Sisifu never expected though is that the moment he placed most of his attention on the white haired kid the blond haired one seemed to secretly put on a serious expression as static jumped across his finger tips.
In the blink of an eye Kaminari who had been instructed by Thaumiel after he informed his quirk held Sisifu's knife arm and began to use his quirk electrification, to discharge the highest amount of amperes he could through the man's metal hand.
Once Sisifu noticed though it was too late as the electric current traveled instantly through the metal blade and under Kaminari's desperate release became a huge source of electricity constantly frying every bit of Sisifu's body paralyzing the latter.
"W-Ahhhhhhhhh!"
Hearing the scream Thaumiel who was under the desk put away his scarred expression returning to a pure indifferent look and rushed up to Kaminari and Sisifu.
Immediately pulling Kaminari away after the latter seemed to have temporarily fried his brain for discharging too much current through his quirk.
Thaumiel moved with extreme precise and clear cut movements displaying full well the deadly combination of near peak human muscle development and martial arts mastery.
Tripping Sisifu who was still largely stunned by Kaminari electricity, Thaumiel ignored the discomfort of receiving some of the left over charge with not a single frown due to his current mind state and threw Sisifu with all his strength to the floor slamming the latter's head right on the tiles.
An almost instant knockout.
Not satisfied though, his eyes quickly turned toward the nearest school desk as he walked over, grabbed it, picked up and used it to slam it down on Sisifu's arms.
With a lot of strength on the left one, and a bit less of strength on the villain's dominant hand.
Throwing aside the desk Thaumiel took a deep breath as the whole classroom seemed to stiffen in place.
Not only the other 18 kids but even the teacher at that moment seemed shell shocked by what they had just seen.
Two kids had 'taken down ' the villain terrorizing everyone.
Before they could properly react to it though the blockage covering the classroom was immediately shattered as two heroes paired with two people wearing police get ups and a person Thaumirl was all too familiar with rushed in.
As his red clear eyes met with Makima's orange red ones an imperceptible glen passed through them.
'Step one is done. Now onto step two of solving my problems for good.'
