Characters: Ruth, Market woman, and Antoinette
(Antoinette works as a potter to earn a living after been thrown out of the house by her fiance) Ruth meets Antoinette again.
Ruth: (Ruth goes to her foodstuffs distributor to buy some items.
Hello custom, customer!!! So how is the market going?
Market woman 1: Hmmmmn madam it's not easy here at all but what else can we do. We are only managing. God been so good we are moving bit by bit. I hope u will buy off all my stuff. (She giggles in laughter)
Ruth: All is well customer.
Market woman1: Please what will u buy today?
Ruth: I'll need 2 bags of rice, 1 box of sugar, 3 boxes of tomatoes and 2 gallons of cooking oil and also 1 gallon of red oil. Thank u.
Market woman 1: Alright my customer I'll get it for you. (Ruth pays her off and gathers the foodstuffs into her car)
Ruth: Let me get down there and have some other items as well. (Ruth walks down the market to the yam sellers) Hey our customer is here oooh. (Market women cheers Ruth up as she gets closer to them)
Market woman 2: Please I have fresh yams here can I serve u some. (Ruth walks down to the next seller and buys from her)
Market woman 3: Hello my dear how can I help you?
Ruth: Please how much is one tuber of yam sold?
Market woman 3: One tuber of yam is sold at twelve cedis. (Ruth bargains with the market woman and buys from her)
Ruth: I'll buy ten tubers of yam. Can u reduce the price so that I can buy more?
Market woman 3: Okay I'll sell one tuber at ten cedis. (The market woman ties off the yam for Ruth)
Ruth: Thank you very much. Can u please help me get a potter to carry my load? It's too heavy. (The market woman calls one of the female potters at the market to help carry her load)
Antoinette: Madam please I'm here let me hurry and collect them.(She pretends not to see her friend Ruth)
Ruth: What a big surprise!!! (Ruth worriedly exclaimed) I can't watch you carry my load it's not right. We've been friends since our childhood.
Antoinette: Hmmmmn Ruth this is what I do for a living.
Ruth: You don't mean it!!! (Antoinette shed tears uncontrollably) please let me get another potter sit in the car and let's go home.
Antoinette: Save the money let me quickly pack the items. (Antoinette quickly packed the yams in the car and they drove off)
Ruth: I gave u my complementary card to call me but why did u refused? I felt very bad upon seeing you at the market.
Antoinette: Hmmmmn I didn't want to worry u with my problems. Besides you are a married woman and I don't want to create problems for you and your husband. I chose to do this when I exhausted all the money you gave me the other time.
Ruth: What are friends for? We've been friends for ages. We are more of sisters so why can't I help u when u need my help? You should have called me. Don't worry, my husband is not difficult he'll accept you into our home.
Antoinette: Are u sure? Please I don't want any form of trouble ooooh. (Annette sorrowfully laments)
Ruth: Everything will be fine. Let's get home first. (The conversation continues as they drive home)
