Now that Linden had appeased Seraphina, he had to face Luna's anger.
Linden turned off the communication device, patted his clothes, and with his ears laid back and tail tightly braced, he gently opened the sliding door of the balcony. He walked through the living room to Luna's room, where the door was half open. Luna sat on the bed with her head down, not saying a word. Linden knocked on the door and entered, sitting beside her. She immediately sprang up, growling softly in warning.
Linden sighed and blocked her attempts to bite. Such scuffles were common in wolf families. Linden had long outgrown the age of play-fighting with siblings, so he easily subdued Luna by pressing her head down.
"You mustn't go back to that woman! Quit that job!" Luna shouted, "It's humiliating! If my school friends find out you serve humans, they'll mock me!"
Is that the reason? Linden twitched his ears and asked, "But how would they know?"
