Struggling to his feet, Spheris let out a difficult groan, his muscles in agony as pieces of rocks and cement rained on top of him. 

The rebound had struck him hard and his head pounded, his vision blurred as well. However, his thoughts were still focused on one thing.

He felt the air continuously whip around him, relentless, as emerald flames lashed violently across the ruins of the church. Spheris pushed himself closer until he was once again able to see the force field through all the flames and wind.

Bastopher was still standing victoriously in the calamitous force field, holding his mother — his mother — by the hair. His twisted grin was still on his cruel face, as his eyes remained locked at Spheris. 

"Pathfinder. Realmkiller. Look at you, Spheris," the Demon Prince sneered. "Is this all the mighty [Sun's Enemy] can manage?"
