The next morning, still without a girlfriend or the hopes of ever getting one, Spheris and the team woke up early and trudged through the crimson terrain. This part of the Abyss truly felt like a center: it was an amalgamation of the major elements in every location of the Realm.

There were streams of lava, streams of water and crystals of ice poking out of the land. There were plants as well, fluorescent flowers and excessive small rocks scattered across the earth. And the smell was horrible.

They climbed up and down the numerous hillslopes and each step reminded them of the hardship they had faced to get to that point, while other steps alleviated them with the hope that they were almost there.

As they ascended yet another steep incline, Nero took a moment to catch his breath and glanced back at the path they had conquered, feeling a mix of exhaustion and determination.
