章 40: Chapter 40 School 2

The dormitory stairs weren't long, but it felt like I climbed them for ages. I need to be quicker, I need to be even quicker. Perhaps it was the urgency of saving someone that made me wish I had wings to fly straight up.

The intense running left me somewhat breathless but at last, I made it to the top. Some people were already standing there, some were trying to talk him out of it, while others were just onlookers there for the excitement.

A boy stood on top of the parapet, staring blankly at the crowd, eventually muttering, "Don't come over here." The parapet wasn't too high, about one meter or so.

This boy seemed only fourteen or fifteen years old, not even having fully tasted the myriad flavors of life. What could be so unbearable that he sought to end his life?

He didn't heed the words of those trying to persuade him, his body swayed slightly, almost falling off. I took a few steps forward, preparing to join the ranks of those persuading.
