Alix had seven pairs of heels in different colors that she thought would match her dress lined up. A hopeless look settled in her eyes as she couldn't decide which ones she wanted to wear to the inauguration. 

She wanted to be comfortable in case there was dancing involved, or walking around to meet and greet guests. Apart from comfortable, they needed to look beautiful and elegant. But then, there was the cold weather to consider which made her want to go for boots or closed heels so that she wouldn't freeze. 

All the shoes she had lined up were new, and she had just removed them from their boxes. All had been selected by her mother-in-law and none were suitable for her simple job as a teacher because they were too expensive.

She lifted her head and looked at the phone as the voice call had been changed to a video call.
