Jack sat on the edge of his couch, phone in hand, staring at the ceiling as he mentally rehearsed the conversation he was about to have. He needed help, and there was only one person he could think of who had the kind of unpredictable connections that might help him—DL. He dialed her number, tapping his foot anxiously as it rang.

"Yeah, what's up?" DL's voice crackled through the speaker, her casual tone almost too relaxed for the situation.

"I need a favor," Jack began, clearing his throat. "Can you find some people to, you know... protect Lena and Samantha? Things are getting messy with Patrick, and I don't want them caught in the crossfire."

There was a brief pause before DL chuckled softly. "Protection, huh? You're lucky you called me. I know some people—good ones. Don't worry, I can arrange it."
