章 229: Thought so

"Unfortunately, I am that foolish co-worker. I can't believe I fell for his lies and nearly cost me a friend. Just a couple of nights ago, he told me how much he loved Fil and earned my sympathy. I had to beg Fil to give him a chance — what a pathetic trash!"

Silence hung in the air right after Elise's revelation. It took a full minute for everyone to process what they heard. Some laughed in surprise while others simply found how this unfolding entertaining. A few, however, couldn't believe their ears and didn't share the same amusement just like everybody else. 

"You did, what?" Vincent scoffed.

For a moment, his mind just went blank. Marianne also furrowed her brows, confused as she never heard of this before. But then again, she immediately realized that Marcus had shown interest in Vincent, Fil, and Marianne's relationship before Fil left.
