Episode 16: Unyielding Spirit

Kilr swing his sword with all determination, he knew he was weaker but… that didn't matter anymore! He was done being weaker.

"Kugh!" He groaned as he overwhelmed the zombie with yet another swing. Each one driving with everything he had.

Blood sprayed out of the white bones neck as it stumbled backwards. Kilr used this moment to attack it's neck again, aiming for the crack he had opened up there.

Bam!!

It blocked it with an arm guard and drove a knee into his chin.

Blood shot out of Kilr's nose as he stumbled backwards. He coughed out blood and pulled back into action. The zombie was stunned by his quick recovery speed making it I'll prepare for his next attack.

"Ahhhh!" Kilr could not help but scream his lungs out as he slashed for it's neck a second time.

Bam!!

The zombie blocked it again and pulled back.

"Hey! Let me tell you something!" Kilr screamed as he darted through the air an swung his blade for the same spot he had been aiming for. He had managed to chop of one of it's hands, he believed he could do it if he just did away with all his regret. There was nothing holding him back anymore.

His sword cut through the air beautiful with it's steel blade sparkling in the white light from the bulbs.

Bam!!

It met with a hard wall again.

Kilr saw the zombie pull itself together poorly and try to mould a weapon from it's skin but it was too rushed and unfinished before Kilr started his counter. The zombie staggered repeated as it lost it's form.

Kilr's spine buzzed with a familiar electricity and he welcome it dearly.

"Damn zombie! Always eating people like sheesh kebabs and when they fight back and what d'ya do? Run like a weetle girl, that's what!"

Kilr's sword bounced off the zombies unfinished sword relatedly. With each hit he could feel himself getting stronger or perhaps the zombie was getting weaker. Kilr saw the zombie smile at the corner of its mouth and taxed his mind for questions.

"What the hell was that?" He pondered.

Now that he thought about it the zombie was regaining it's footwork, did that mean it was faking before. Either that or it was using up all it's strength for something big.

Too answer his question the zombie grew a new hand, Kilr kicked back and prepared to back off. He was still new to using a sword, he had to change up his tactic to battle it now that it had two hands. But the surprise did not end there…!

"What!!" Kilr exclaimed.

The zombie chuckled as it regrown hand started swirling like waves of milk, moulding around each other till it formed a long steel blade. Kilr gulped down.

"So it was saving up all it's energy to grow a weaponized hand?"

"Now things will be much harder!"

"But it didn't finish the unfinished weapon in it's other hand does that mean it ran out of bone?"

"Or was it mana?"

Kilr swallowed his thoughts as the zombie bent down down to charge at him. A smile curled on his lips as his back throbbed aginst his body. "Did you forget what I told you, you f**ker?!!" He gripped his sword hilt tighter and darted for the zombie. "From here on out, I'm taking the initiative!!"

The zombie smiled and swung both blades at Kilr who evaded them easily. Kilr jumped over the blade and landed on his hands, the zombies sweeped it's leg for him and he threw himself away from it's angle and landed on his feet.

Kilr could not help but feel elated.

"Did I just do a hand stand? And a backflip? I guess I never really tried out my own strength! But I'm lighter and faster!"

He charged forward and swung his blade with all he had.it connected perfectly and he knocked smashed the unfinished blade from the white bone zombie's hand. His short moment of relief was cut even shorter by the zombies next moved as it thrust it's weaponized blade hand for his head.

The space between them was too close, Kilr was sure he could dodge it if he wanted to but…! His eyes flashed in retrospect and his grin drew wider he had no intention of dodging. Rather he would face it head on.

Stab!!

That came a little fast than Kilr had anticipated. The blade cut through his shoulder just as he had anticipated.

Kilr's face was swollen and bloody, his arms could barely swing again. But even under all the intense pain! The veins around his forehead and arms popped up like electric wires sending millions of neurons firing off like fireflies.

"I'm done with this!! If I am going to die… it's not today." He kicked forward with all his strength and slashed at it's neck again.

The zombies weaponized arm was still impaled in Kilr's shoulder so it was forced to depend on the other hand to guard against it, nothing Kilr could do at this juncture could surprise it.

Slash!

Crack!

Kilr's blade cuts through it's hand cleanly sending white blood squirting on his face. His sword continued with it's gaining momentum and broke through the skin of it's neck. The zombie kicked at Kilr in fear. The sword cut through the neck neck of the white bone zombie and coats them both in thick white blood gushing out like a rushing fountain. "Die!!" Kilr screamed his lungs out.

The white bone zombie gave out a great cry that almost blew out Kilr's eardrums before plopping to the ground and going silent. Kilr kicked the zombie from him and yelped fro the pain in his shoulder and all over his body.

Kilr was exasperated and worn out from too much exertion of energy.

An again he escaped the snare of death by the tail.
