Because Nicolai still had some drugs in his system, he couldn't help but stumble when Ariana ran into his arms. He fell three steps behind and looked at the woman in his arms. 

"Pallas?" His dilated pupils tried hard to focus. "What are you doing here? What's—" His eyes fell on Ariana's hands that were bleeding, and his pupils couldn't help but shrink. "What the... did they catch you as well?" 

His speech was slurred, which showed that he was still drugged and did not know what he was talking about. 

However, Ariana did not care about it. She had never felt any more relieved than she did at that moment when he called her Pallas. 

She hugged him and cried. Her broken sobs echoed in the silent surroundings. She couldn't help but scold him, "You are the only one who will be caught by those fools—you idiot... you fool!"
