Although he said so, Clark was in no way daring to pin his hopes on Hulk stopping in time.
The punch came too fast and too suddenly; it was already too late to dodge.
Left with no choice, he quickly spread the cloak in his hand like a shield in front of his chest, only to be blown away by Hulk's punch, cloak and all.
Even with vibranium's ability to absorb energy, facing Hulk's full-force punch, Clark still felt his arms go numb from the shock.
It seems that in terms of strength and defense, he still has a long way to go compared to Hulk and the likes of Abomination! As he was sent flying backward, Clark couldn't help but lament his own lack of strength.
But then, he suddenly noticed that after Hulk's strike, he didn't stop at all. After a slight pause, Hulk immediately pursued him again.
Facing an opponent of Hulk's caliber, once you lose the initiative, you're really in a bad spot!
What to do? As Clark was rapidly thinking and speculating in his mind, he didn't notice that a ring of sparks, resembling fireworks, suddenly appeared next to him, displaying two completely different scenes inside and outside the ring. Then, without any knowledge of what was happening, he fell into the ring.
With a flex of his waist, he finally regained balance at the critical moment. Clark flipped over and landed steadily on the ground, only to find himself inside an ancient European-style building.
Directly in front of him was the ring that connected him to the space he was in before. Through the ring, he could still see Hulk swinging his huge fists, intending to continue his attack on Clark.
However, this scene only lasted for a moment. The next second, the ring, along with the Hulk in another space, disappeared from his sight.
"How about it, you want to go back and have a good fight with him?"
Suddenly, a slightly magnetic voice came from behind Clark. Turning his head, he saw a bald middle-aged woman standing with her hands behind her back, looking at him with a smile that was not quite a smile.
This woman had a very kind demeanor, exuding a unique aura that made people feel good at first sight. Her appearance was above average, but it made people unable to harbor any improper thoughts.
"Who are you?"
Almost the moment he saw her, Clark guessed her identity. But to keep a low profile, he still took the initiative to ask.
The woman's smile remained unchanged, and she calmly said, "Why don't you try guessing?"
"Master, are you joking with me? I'm not a fortune teller, how could I possibly know in advance?"
Receiving an impression value of +678 from the Ancient One!
God, Master, do I look like a Master to you?
Seems a bit like it...
Although he was internally complaining, there wasn't a trace of awkwardness on his face: "You can try guessing. If you guess right, I might teach you a couple of spells."
Is this a teacher delivered to my doorstep? Just when I was worried about not having anyone to teach me, a sticky rice dumpling falls from the sky!
Clark's eyes lit up, and he immediately nodded: "Since you're interested, then I'll reluctantly make a guess."
After a pause, Clark looked at the Ancient One up and down and then said, "I guess you might be... the strongest in the Himalayas, the guardian of the Three Sanctums, the spokesperson of the Vishanti on Earth, the inheritor of the will of Agamotto, the holder of the Time Stone and many other artifacts, the protector of Earth's supreme sorcerer, the Ancient One!"
"Ha ha..." After finishing, Clark laughed and said, "I was just making a wild guess. If I'm wrong, please don't mind."
The Ancient One's face showed a smile that said, "You claim you don't know martial arts," and then she said, "Preconditions aside, you can stay and learn two spells from me. You'll stay in the New York Sanctum for the time being."
After saying that, the Ancient One turned and walked away: "Follow me, I'll take you to see where you'll be staying."
Following the Ancient One to his new residence, she casually handed him a piece of paper with a string of English letters: "You can check in with your family first, and we'll start teaching you magic tomorrow."
Clark knew it was the WIFI password without the Ancient One saying it, but for him, this was completely unnecessary since he could crack it himself.
Pulling out his phone and connecting to the WIFI, Clark didn't immediately contact his family but sat on the bed, frowning in thought.
So, the Ancient One takes on disciples just like that? Although learning magic from the Ancient One had been Clark's top choice for gaining power from the beginning, even the number one choice.
Its low risk and high ceiling are truly the best choice for newcomers to the Marvel universe.
But when this opportunity suddenly fell into his lap, Clark couldn't help but be doubtful.
From the beginning, the Ancient One directly used a portal to bring him into the Sanctum and then let Clark guess her identity as if that was a test, and then without further ado, started teaching him skills? Isn't this a bit too easy?
After thinking for a long time without finding an answer, Clark finally decided to ask her directly the next day.
Then, Clark took out his phone and sent a video request to Hank Pym.
"Dudu... Dudu... Dudu..."
After a moment, the video connected, and Clark saw Hank Pym frowning: "Why did you put on the Ant-Man suit again? Do you remember how you fainted last time?"
"I'm just worried about you, you brat," Hank Pym replied directly: "Where have you run off to now, why aren't you coming back?"
How to explain this? Explaining this question would probably take longer than the time Clark had encountered the Ancient One until now. Clark decided to keep it short: "I might not be coming back for a while, but it's not a bad thing. I've found a new way to enhance my strength, and I need some time to adapt."
"As for the details, it's complicated to explain, so I won't bother you with it. Just know that I'm not in any danger."
Hank Pym cursed with a laugh but then listened as Clark asked again, "How are those two monsters doing?"
Hank Pym's answer was simple and clear: "The green one ran away, and the yellow one was taken away by the military. I mean, are you sure you won't encounter any danger?"
"I'm sure, definitely sure, and absolutely sure. Don't worry about me!"
It seems the fates of the Hulk and Abomination haven't changed at all; his appearance only prevented his family from suffering losses.
But that's fine, too; changing anything wouldn't have brought any real benefits to him anyway.
Hanging up the phone and lying in bed, he still couldn't fall asleep.
He snapped his fingers idly.
"In dreams, the air begins to smoke..."
Zzz...
