Brigantiea slowly opened her eyes, feeling slightly better after the food Lucien had brought.

The warm milk had soothed her stomach somewhat, though she wasn't completely full.

Laying eggs usually took about 12 hours for her, depending on the quantity. It wasn't overly painful, just uncomfortable with the feeling of her stomach in knots.

This was why she preferred to be alone during this time; she didn't see the need for anyone to take care of her.

She liked her solitude.

Hearing a scribbling sound, Brigantiea looked down to see Lucien busy with papers. Despite being away from the village, he was still immersed in his work.

"You're really a hard worker, aren't you?" she remarked.

Lucien paused and looked up. "Well, I had some free time. Do you need something?"

"No, I'm fine. It's not even that painful. You're just worrying too much," Brigantiea sighed. "Anyway, what are you working on?"
