As they sat in the drawing room with glasses of wine and a charcuterie board in front of them, William busied himself opening another bottle of wine while Lucien gazed into the dancing flames of the fireplace.

"Aren't you happy with all the gold coins from the auction? Why the long face?," Rosetta remarked, taking a sip of her wine.

"It's not that... I just... I think I encountered Abattre at the auction. Well, I'm not entirely sure, but something felt off," Lucien explained, his expression uncertain.

"Hmm... I see," Rosetta responded casually, swirling her glass.

"Why aren't you more surprised? Shouldn't this be a big deal?" Lucien frowned, feeling suspicious.

"Because it's not that surprising. The Fox are known for their dirty deeds. I wouldn't be shocked if they were involved in human trafficking," Rosetta replied, her tone matter-of-fact.
