All of a sudden, Amo found himself holding several packs of snacks in his arms.
But Sisi continued to shove more in, only stopping once she felt that he should be satiated. Then she sprang up and plopped back onto the couch.
"Why aren't you snacking?" asked Sisi, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm and innocence. "These are all my precious treats."
Amo took another bite of his chocolate bar. "I've seen beggars outside, homeless and pathetic, suffering from hunger and cold. You must have been hungry and cold as well, right?" she continued.
"..." Wait, did she think he was a beggar too?
What exactly was going on in his daughter's mind?
Amo was overwhelmed, but he was willing to play the role of a beggar in his daughter's eyes.
Sisi then added, "Daddy, now that you're home, you're not a beggar anymore. I will love you very much."
Amo froze for a moment, his eyes immediately filling with tears.
Still blinking her eyes at him, Sisi asked, "Daddy, why didn't you come back sooner?"
