章 39: 39
Megan walks over to the bar tender with the empty glasses of beer on the tray. Today was hard for her as she felt tired and sleepy. Last night she tried to sleep but her thoughts returned to the Lewis brothers.
Roman's reaction to Apollo's words were just, she understood why he was so angry and she didn't fault him for it. She just got scared seeing him so mad at his own brother. He even told Apollo he'd disown him and consider him dead.
"What's wrong now?" Lola asked from across the room. She walks over to Megan. "Why do you look dead inside since morning?"
"It's...Roman...and his brother Apollo." Megan Said sadly.
Lola raised an eyebrow as a feeling of concern washed over her and she speaks up next. "Huh? What's the issue with those two? I thought Roman and Apollo were always close."
"They were...I mean they are...Lola, I just don't know what happened...Apollo said he loves me and Roman overheard." Megan sits down as the bar was now almost empty.
"Huh? So he really does have a crush on you? Damn...and what happened after. When Roman overheard Apollo's confession?"
"They got into a heated argument and Roman even told Apollo if I went with him, Roma would consider Apollo dead to him."
"Damn...so Roman was pretty mad then. I can't believe he would say something like that to his own brother. What did Apollo say after that?"
"I Don't know Lola...He said he didn't care and that he still loves me which is odd because Apollo have never had any proper conversation before we always argued when we met up."
"Well...I mean he did say that he loves you. So maybe he was just hiding his feelings this whole time and now he doesn't have any intention on hiding them anymore. And it probably hurt him even more when he realized that you were already taken by his older brother. So he probably decided to fight back and try to convince you that he was better than Roman."
Megan thinks over what Lola said and it makes her head hurt thinking that she was right.
Even though Roman was too angry to have even the slightest bit of sympathy for Apollo who was trying to steal his girlfriend away, Megan was now hearing Lola's words and it was all so clear for her at this point. Apollo was indeed hiding his feelings for her the entire time and now that they have surfaced, it was too much for him to handle. She also noticed that both sides had a point in all of this; Apollo wanted what was best for him but Roman didn't want to lose the woman he loves. It was confusing for her.
She didn't want anyone to get hurt but she knew that she already loved Roman so Apollo would get hurt.
"I love Roman." Megan said realizing this whole situation was ridiculous. She had no feelings for Apollo so it was pretty obvious his feelings for her didn't change anything.
Lola raised an eyebrow when Megan said that but a look of realization soon washed over her. It was very clear that she was deeply in love with Roman which was why she hated the fact that his own brother had the hots for her. The feeling of concern returned to her as she spoke up immediately after.
"You love Roman, Megan? Well it was pretty obvious that he loves you too. So why do you care so much about what his brother thinks or feels about you? It shouldn't matter what he feels if you and Roman are going so strong."
"You're right. I shouldn't care...You know What? I'll go meet Apollo and shut him down." She gets up. "I don't want any complications any more."
As soon as she gets up, Lola can't help but feel relieved. She thought that there would be more drama but Megan suddenly got the idea of shutting down any of Apollo's intentions immediately. She then raised an eyebrow and asked her a concerned and confused question.
"Wait wait, did you say you were gonna go and meet him right now? Like right this second?"
Megan stops at the door, "I don't want to waste anytime."
The concern only grows on Lola's face as the two speak and as it grows, so does the confusion. "Wait, you're gonna go see him right now? As in, right now, right now? Don't you think that's a little bit of a bad idea? What if he says or does something?"
"Lola I am not afraid of Apollo."
"It's not about being afraid of him. It's that this whole thing is a mess right now and it'll make the drama worse. I mean you just said that you are gonna go shut him down but how exactly are you gonna do that? It's not like you can say a few words and suddenly he'll stop loving you. And then there's the factor of how Roman will react when he realizes that you went to go talk to his brother. How do you think he'll feel about that?"
Megan sighs heavily faustrated, "Lola l am going to make it clear to him that I love Roman and nothing he can say or do will change my mind."
Lola nods her head when she hears that and her expression turns back to one of relief. It seemed like Megan was determined to handle this all by herself and she wouldn't have anyone else interfere. It was also her decision to shut down Apollo and she was gonna make sure that this drama with him would end here. She spoke up one last time just to make sure one last thing was clear.
"If you're really sure about this, then go right ahead. Just make it really clear to him and no matter what he says or does, just stand by your words."
Megan nods, "Don't worry dear. I can handle myself okay?"
Lola nods her head as she speaks next. "I believe you. I hope everything goes well. Just, be careful with him though, okay? No matter how much you love Roman, don't get hurt just trying to prove it to his brother. You come back here safely."
