章 8: Inside the artifact!

A sigh left Zhao Tian's lips as he glanced at the phone screen and saw the money that had been transferred to his account.

Placing the phone on his PC table, he glimpsed at the green pendant on his neck. "Just who is my Dad actually?" he mumbled quietly.

"I should ask her..." He has never asked anything about his Dad to his mom, and likewise, his mom has never initiated a conversation about it. Therefore, he is considering whether or not he should finally ask her about it.

But it was already midnight, so he decided to ask her about this tomorrow and left the room to grab a glass of water. As he came out into the hallway, he heard some noises from downstairs.

So he came downstairs and saw his mom watching TV sitting on the couch. He walked over to the sofa and called her "Mom?"

Zhao Suyin turned her head and smiled "Tian'er..." He sat beside her leaning on the couch "You are watching TV now...?"

Zhao Suyin giggled "I couldn't sleep so I came to watch some TV, by the way, what about your tournament... did you win?"

Looking at her, Zhao Tian smiled tenderly "You know me." Zhao Suyin laughed and patted his head "Of course my son would win."

"As I said, it is my responsibility to look after you and sister now..." Zhao Suyin could only sigh and ruffle his hair "Don't stress too much, dear."

Zhao Tian hesitated for a bit and seeing the hesitation in his eyes, Zhao Suyin smiled and brushed his cheek with her fingers, "Tian'er, what's wrong? You seem to be hesitating about something... huh?"

Zhao Tian spoke, "I know it's out of the blue, but can you tell me about our dad, Mom?" Zhao Suyin's smile stiffened upon hearing this and she slowly retracted her hand "H-Huh? Tian'er?"

Seeing her reaction, Zhao Tian sighed in his heart, He knew it was a sensitive topic for her, that's why he hesitated "Like his name... or what he was doing..."

Zhao Suyin's body quivered hearing his words, her heart flooding with emotions. *shrik* She and abruptly stood up from the couch her eyes moistening with tears "I-I am sorry, Tian'er..."

Zhao Tian also stood up and Zhao Suyin turned around showing her back as she rubbed the small tears in her eyes "P-Please, Tian'er... don't ask about him."

With a soft sigh, Zhao Tian took a step forward softly hugging her from behind feeling a little guilty for making his mom cry "Mom I won't ask about him again."

Zhao Suyin took a deep breath controlling her emotions and touched his hand giving a small nod "E-En..." With that Zhao Tian let go of her and Zhao Suyin turned her head showing a small smile "I'll go and sleep, Tian'er. Good night..."

"Good night!" Zhao Tian said and saw her entering her room. Although his mom always had a calm and motherly smile, he knew she was an emotional woman... that's why he didn't force her to say things.

"I couldn't get any information about Dad. Hm.. this little bug." Zhao Tian mused and directly walked towards his Sister's room forcefully opening the door "It is a bad habit to eavesdrop, you know?"

"Tian'er?" Zhao Ying was startled by his sudden entrance and tried to run away but Zhao Tian quickly moved and caught her in his arms. "Where are you running? hm?"

"Ah! Tian'er!" Zhao Ying struggled against him but she couldn't free herself from the iron grip and stopped fighting back. Instead, she hugged him back tight, her boobs clashing with his chest, their bodies intertwined.

With their faces mere inches apart, their lips approached dangerously close, teasing the possibility of an intimate kiss.

As they gazed deeply into each other's eyes, their lips drew closer, almost touching, creating an electric tension that radiated between them. "Haahhh~!" Zhao Ying nodded and retracted her arms from his neck. As Zhao Tian left the room, Zhao Ying followed him into the kitchen to drink water.

Lying on the soft bed, Zhao Tian looked at the green pendant in his fingers. "I wonder what is Shenyi doing," he said and brought the pendant near his eyes to take a closer look.

*swish* But suddenly he got sucked into the pendant and disappeared from the room.

*woosh* Huh? Zhao Tian looked around the room he was in "This is the same room, I talked with Shenyi..."

*thud* "Tian!" Opening the door, Xia Shenyi quickly came inside sensing Zhao Tian inside the room "You're back?" she exclaimed, unable to hide her excitement. Zhao Tian gave a nod "Seems like I am."

*tap* Xia Shenyi's face lit up with a big smile "Haah, I thought I was left here alone once again... glad you are back." she spoke walking towards him.

Zhao Tian smiled wryly "Shenyi this artifact works so randomly... sucking me in."

"No, Tian... hear me out." She pulled him and made him sit on the chair as she sat on the table. "Did you find something?" Zhao Tian asked looking at the excited smile of Xia Shenyi.

Xia Shenyi chuckled "Yeah, do you remember the golden tattoo?" Zhao Tian nodded his head "Yeah, I do."

"Now manifest it again, concentrate your astral energy on your wrist. Even though you have not begun cultivating, you can manipulate a small amount of astral energy."

"Well, I'll try." Zhao Tian spoke and concentrated the energy on his wrist and the golden tattoo again appeared. "Oh, that was surprisingly easy..."

Xia Shenyi had a frown on her face "No, that's because of your special body you can control very well even though it's your first time."

"I see... so what's with this tattoo?" Zhao Tian asked curiously Xia Shenyi extended her arm and the black tattoo appeared on her wrist "See mine is black, yours is golden. Do you know why?"

"No. I am not an Artifact specialist, you are."

Xia Shenyi smiled "Hehe, let me enlighten you. That's because you are the owner or master of this artifact. This artifact has recognized you as the master."

"Means I have complete control over this artifact?" Zhao Tian asked squinting his eyes, 'So if my guess is right...' *treek* A space crack appeared in the room and Zhao Tian smiled "As I thought."

A look of surprise flashed in Xia Shenyi's eyes and she grinned "You caught up to it huh..."

Zhao Tian nodded "I had a vague guess, because the last time the space crack appeared after I wished to leave..."

Xia Shenyi stood up "Come with me, let me show you another thing." Zhao Tian followed her and they left the home coming outside.

As they reached outside, Zhao Tian saw a huge pagoda-like tower and another huge building beside it both were built in old style.

Xia Shenyi and Zhao Tian walked towards the building "These two buildings were not here at first but they appeared after you left this place."

"I tried to enter them but I couldn't because there is a powerful seal placed on the door."

"Maybe I could." Zhao Tian spoke and walked near the building. Looking at the grand door, he pushed the doors open.

As the door swung open, its golden hue shimmered and it slowly crept open. With a smile etched across her face, Xia Shenyi eagerly entered the building. "This place is huge..." she muttered in disbelief.

Her black eyes darted around in excitement and saw a lot of valuable things in the huge place. There are some artifacts and weapons in that huge place.

Xia Shenyi's eyes were full of stars as she looked around excitedly. She looked at the huge stand at the end of the hall and saw a lot of books there.

"Oh? there are even cultivation techniques here..." Xia Shenyi muttered glancing at the shelf "Tian, I think this must be the collection or warehouse of a powerful cultivator in the past."

After scanning the surroundings, her gaze eventually landed on a secluded room tucked away in the corner, and hastily walked toward it. As she tried to push the door, it repelled her and she took a step back.

"Tian, will you come here for a second?" She called and Zhao Tian who was looking at an artifact walked near her "What happened, Shenyi?"

"Tian, try to open this door." Zhao Tian looked at the door in front and pushed it open. *creek* Xia Shenyi's jaw dropped looking at the things inside the room "Tian, you just became rich!"

Zhao Tian looked at the large number of astral stones, beast stones, and many other valuable things inside the room.

Xia Shenyi frowned looking at the wealth "Who created this artifact and placed such valuable things in it? Maybe during the time of the old realm war?"
