The Great Battle of Edd War
The battle has started. Roger fired the first canon and it hit the ship next to Shiki's. I was excited. I know the outcome of this battle. There is no way that the Oro Jackson would ever sink with me on it. I can coat the entire ship with my Busoshoku and still fight, without any trouble. Shiki's ability of the Fuwa Fuwa no mi can be a nuisance to fight if you are substantially weaker than him.
But there aren't any weak men and women on the Roger Pirates. Even Shanks and Buggy were strong for their age and knew how to handle themselves during a fight. And to make sure, I always had an eye on them. They had to grow stronger and hardship is the best way to do that in this world. You either grew powerful or you died.

The entirety of Shiki's 'Grand Armada' began to fire at us. As I said I would, I coat the Oro Jackson in Busoshoku. This allows everyone to fight to their heart's content. The weather didn't seem to agree with this fight today. I saw a very big storm approaching. So we would have to either hold them until then or attack and do as much damage as possible. I preferred to just go with the flow. No matter what happens, I might as well enjoy myself.
While some ships kept firing at us, others began to sail towards us and wanted to board. That's when the real fight began. Shiki also joined and floated in the air, only to then swoop down and attack Roger with his two swords. They imbued their weapons with Haoshoku no Haki like the top powerhouses of this world can.
Roger was standing in front of the Oro Jackson, in order not to pull anyone else into his fight. Their blades didn't even touch. The Haki is emitted from their blades, where it is focused on in the form of black lightning. Strong winds blow from their position and had I not used Haki to coat the Oro Jackson, I'm sure that there would be quite a lot of damage. Both of them push as hard as they can. It becomes apparent why Shiki was a high-ranking pirate on the Rocks Pirates.
Everyone else also gets to fight someone. The stronger ones like Rayleigh and Gaban fight Shiki's Vice Captain and also a multitude of other pirates at the same time. The overall fighting power of the Roger pirates is unmatched in the world. The only group that came close and even surpassed the overall power has to be the Rocks during God Valley, but they're no more.
It took Roger and Garp to fight Rocks at the same time. Well, they and also a myriad of others. I've seen Rocks D. Xebec and the lad was a lunatic. But this is what gave him such power. His disregard for anything but power gave him an impressively strong will. But Roger has grown more powerful as well since then. I am sure that he could take Rocks alone if they were to fight today.

I have my staff on my shoulder and look around the battlefield. I haven't been approached by many pirates. But that seems to change now. A new ship approaches my side and I watch as hundreds of pirates board the Oro Jackson. None of my fellow crewmates came to help me. Everyone knows about my strength. That's until two boys run to my side as I wait for the pirates to approach me.
"Sid! We come to help you!", Shanks says with a serious face.
"Yes, Sid. We'll ... help you.", Buggy manages to say as well. Buggy takes out two daggers and Shanks his sabre. I just shrug at their presence. It's not my choice to tell them what to do.
"Good. Make sure to remember what I told you.", I say as the first pirate runs towards me. He doesn't seem to regard the two boys as a threat. Well, that's his problem to deal with.

The pirate slashes at me from above. I tilt my body to the side and let him run past me. As he is next to me I grab his head and throw him back into the approaching pirates. They fall down like bowling pins, causing chaos. A pirate runs towards me from behind, I doge again and grab his hands. I use his momentum against him and make him flip in the air.
Another dodge and another pirate is in front of me. I grab his arm he uses to hit me and pull him towards me. When he is close, I front-kick him and send him flying into the pirate that was about to attack Shanks from a blindspot. I jump slightly and spin around, kicking two pirates away.
I still have my staff on my shoulder and haven't met a pirate that is worth using it. However, that seems to change as more and more pirates begin to flood my area. Well, no matter. I take the staff and use the thin part of it in front. The pirates appear to believe in the flooding tactic. They just run at me without a plan, thinking that if they take away my room to move, they will win.
Foolish thought that one. I always wanted to try this, I admit. I liked the movie.

I swing the staff and hit a pirate from the right and then another to the left. And then I jumped into the air, spinning with the staff in front of me. That's right, I ripped off a Neo, during his fight with all the clones. I land in the middle of the pirates. I use the staff to push a group away and then swing it 180° to the other side and smash it into another one.
I look up at a pirate who jumps at me with his sword. I spin my staff and smash it on his head, cracking it. The floor is reinforced with my Haki, making it hard and causing his head to splash all over the floor. I bring the staff back and hit another one behind me. I twirl the staff and turn 360°, hitting all of their legs and causing them to fall.
I swing my staff left and right, smashing in heads and shooting them back into the crowd of pirates. I then drop low and yeet one into the air. As he is falling back down, I am still kicking pirates and punching them, breaking bones as I go along.
The yeeted pirate comes back down and I hold my staff like a baseball bat and bash it into him. His body literally breaks down and his remains rain down on the pirates that are left. I look at Shanks and Buggy and see them looking at me with wide eyes. In the heat of the short exchange, the pirates stopped attacking them and concentrated on me.
I sense a stronger presence and decide to end this game. I grab my staff at the handle and twirl it around with one hand. I then use the oversized prayer wheel to bash in every head that I come across. I walk through the pirates and very soon finish with all of them. That's the moment that the stronger presence shows up.

A man stands in front of me. He is rather a fat man with a blonde mohawk on his head. There is a long scar running right through his face from the top left to the bottom right. He looks at me with bloodlust and a big grin.
"I see you made quick work of my crew it would seem. Good, I'll enjoy breaking you."
"Aha."
"You can act all arrogant but it won't work. I know your strength from what I have just observed. You're nowhere near my level."
"Aha."
"Against raw power such as mine and my beautiful Warhammer, there is nothing you can do. None of your fancy moves will yield anything.", he says and takes his oversized Warhammer.
I don't answer him and instead take some candy from my pocket and unwrap it. These wraps always take so long to take off.
"Prepare yourself, boy. I will crush you with this hammer and smash your brains out. You will kiss my shoes today, mark my w-"
"Aha.", I say. Sadly I didn't time that 'Aha' very well because I stopped listening to him after he opened his mouth. So he realised that I wasn't listening and narrowed his eyes.
"You insolent brat!!", the pirate screams and raises his giant Warhammer into the air. With powerful physical force, he slams it down hard. I can tell that he has reached 'Emission' in Bushoshoku no Haki and see him coat it. The weapon approaches my head.
*BOOM*
A loud sound is heard when his hammer reaches me. But what he didn't expect was for me to simply ... grab his hammer with my left hand. His eyes widen at this display of power and he tries to push harder.
"What is this?! How are you this powerful? Did you eat a devil fruit?"
"Those 'fruit' as you call them, tell a dangerous story. I would never eat something like that. I prefer to walk my own path and not have my freedom taken from me. As for your hammer, well that is simple ... No one moves me except me."
"W-what?!"
"You're weak."
"Why you fu-"
"Let me show you how it's done.", I say and let go of his hammer. He takes it back and lifts it up again, preparing to strike again. I grab my staff and coat it in Haki as well. I imbue Busoshoku as well as Haoshoku no Haki into it. For his last day on earth, I might as well show him something cool.
He uses his physical strength to bring his hammer down. I do the opposite and bring my staff upwards. The prayer wheel and the head of his hammer meet.
*BOOOOM*
A loud explosion is heard. When the dust clears, I am standing there with a passive expression on my face, my staff on my shoulder, sucking on my sweet. The pirate, however ... well his entire upper body down to his thorax is gone. Blood flows out of the remaining stump and the body falls to the ground.
I look at the sea and see giant waves forming. The storm I saw forming was now here and the size of these waves would threaten any ship that wasn't prepared. This essentially ended the fighting. Giant waves rolled over some of the ships in Shiki's Armada and sank them, together with all the people on board.

This fight came to be called the 'Great Battle of Edd War'. Roger's ship, which many assumed to be completely obliterated, was spared. Some say by the sudden change of weather and that they were lucky, others say that Shiki's Armada just wasn't as strong as everyone assumed. But the Roger Pirates knew the truth. It was thanks to me coating the entirety of the Oro Jackson with my Haki and protecting it from any damage.
In the end, half of Shiki's fleet sunk into the sea. Furthermore, an unfortunate accident befell Shiki ... I could feel Shiki's spirit suddenly take a dive as we were sailing away from the storm. I would later come to find out, that somehow a former member of the Rocks Pirates, got a part of a steering wheel smashed into his head. This was essentially the reason why he fled the battlefield instead of continuing the assault using his devil fruit and had to tend to his injuries.
"You fought well, Buggy, Shanks. Both of you got stronger quite a bit since you joined Buggy. I can see both of you will surely grow powerful in the future.", I told the two youngsters.
"Really Sid?!", Buggy asked me with stars in his eyes. He always got excited when I praised him. I smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, we'll surely grow to be as strong as Captain Roger, eh Shanks?"
"I will, you on the other hand..."
"What's that supposed to mean?!!"
