章 8: Being at edge
Sana was furious at Ash for what he did, but somewhere she knew, he is right. She was well aware of the fact that this book can be dangerous still she kept going on with her curiosity.
Ash was tensed about Sana's behavior he decides to contact Aditi and confront her about the scenario matching with their real lives.
"But how is this even possible Miss Aditi? You really think I would believe you if you say this shit is a coincidence? I..... What am I even doing in front of a mirror?" Ash was practicing to shout and confront Aditi to ask about that book and it's story but in vain.
"First of all I think I should check other copies of this book and then decide whether to confront Aditi or not." Ash then leaves to check the register meant for book purchase.
After leaving from classroom Sana tried to be calm and again she looked in the book and as she expected the quarrel between her and Ash was written there.
Written text: " Sam don't try to be my parent dude?
Enough is enough I will do whatever I want to.
Aditi why are you hell bent to do nuisance like this?
I left from there . Next week I went to fresher's party that was a scene captured in mind....."
"Hey! what's up?" Sana looked up to the voice and she recognized this face.
"Hello!" He was the boy sitting next to Ash in the auditorium when Aditi came.
"So, you are reading the new book yet?" He asked looking at the book.
"I would have completed this book by now but I could only read 1 or 2 lines always because every single time I read this some or the other thing keeps interrupting me first Tia, then Ash, and now.. leave it."
"I am sorry if I disturbed you."
"No It's fine. So did you bought this book later?"
"Oh! Yes I did and guess what? I completed it but don't worry I won't give you spoilers."
"What? You read this book completely?" Sana was shocked, she didn't think of it but her life's story is being broadcasted in the whole country.
"Didn't you found anything weird in this book?" She wanted to know if only she felt that way or there is more to it.
"No, the story is absolutely awesome as always. I knew it Aditi would never disappoint her readers."
"So what do you think is Sam wrong?"
"Who is Sam?" He asked.
"Sam the male lead in the story."
"What are you saying? There is no male lead in this story. Are you sure you are reading the right book?"
"Do you have the book right now?" Asked Sana she felt surprised and relieved at the same time.
"No I don't have it right now but I can bring it after lunch. I think you are mistaken." He then left from there for his class.
Sana checks left and right if someone is there or not when she confirms that the place is empty. She starts to read this chapter where fresher's party day was written. In the middle of the sentence she again looks left, right but still no one is there.
"I think now I can finally read this book properly."
In the documents section of library, Ash was looking for the register where list of people buying Aditi's new book was maintained.
"Where is it? Where is it?" He was sliding his fingers through the documents suddenly he stopped.
"Here got this." He took out the register turned some pages trying to find a familiar name. As soon as he found a name he knew, he kept the register back and came out running from library.
Here Sana finished reading the chapter, "I promise you Ash I will not let this happen." She thinks.
Fresher's Party Day
Sana read the fresher's party day chapter the things she read there most probably will happen which she was determined to stop. She was getting ready for the party as if she was going to win a war.
At the Venue
The place was decorated perfectly with the theme black and white. Night lights were mesmerizing, background paintings being customized according to dark theme with some funky music on. Sana entered the place with her friends, she didn't came with Ash for some reason. She went way earlier to make sure that Suzy could not come inside the party at any cost.
"Excuse me! I need a help." She asked to a coordinator present there.
"Yes please how may I help you?" asked the coordinator.
"This student is not allowed in the party for past history. Could you help us to prevent her from entering this party?" She showed Suzy's picture and told him to do so.
"Are you sure about this?" He felt something is fishy.
"Yes I am." She replied.
"Alright!" He then neglected it thinking it can be true.
Later Ash was searching for Sana in the party, she was screening his calls. "Why is she not answering to my calls?"
"Hey Ashish!" Called one of his friends.
"Come here there is something interesting we have for you. Why are you standing there alone?" Ash's friends were having drinks and they wanted him to try some as he has never even touched alcohol.
"Yes wait a minute." Ash went towards them not knowing that they are calling him for drinks.
"Here, drink this. You will feel awesome." Says one of them handing a glass of vodka to Ash.
"No dude, you know I don't drink." Ash has always tried to be away from alcohol.
"Just one glass is nothing dude give it a try." The other friend insisted.
"....No it's not my thing and I drove here. For real, it's fine you guys have fun." Ash is trying very hard to resist because they are literally shoving it in his mouth.
"We will book a cab come'on man don't be a nerd."
"And what is nerdy in not being interested in drinking alcohol? Anyways didn't you guys herd he said that he drove here and doesn't drink." Said Sana she came out of nowhere but she came just on time.
"You guys should not force someone to drink and people who don't drink are healthy not a nerd." She added.
"Sana just stop it's fine we are just enjoying. Where were you? Why were you screening my calls?" Ash stopped Sana otherwise she would have started lecturing his friends and they would not want to be with him which always happens.
"Yes we are just enjoying and what is wrong in one drink only, and we are not forcing him. We are telling him that he should try everything." Says one of the person in the group.
"I do have eyes and ears through which I can see and hear very clearly. From what I saw and heard, you....were forcing him. You try whatever you want to don't interr...pt....." Here Sana was starting her lecture when Ash kept his hand over her mouth to stop her from speaking.
"Just stop, it's fine, we are friends. Okay?" Sana held his hand, removed it over her mouth and they both left the place.
