章 50: Chapter 49: Tohru's Thoughts

In a fierce and unrelenting battle, two formidable human armies clashed across a sprawling and desolate plain. Each side fought with unwavering determination, driven by their deeply held beliefs, ideologies, and personal motivations. The conflict raged on for countless days, with neither faction yielding an inch in their pursuit of victory.
Suddenly in the middle of the battle from the sky, a giant green dragon with horns entered the fray and started to slaughter both armies. The commanders of the armies seeing this difficult situation, without speaking mutually came to a decision and decided to face the dragon together. They fought thinking, that if they came together, they might be able to defeat the dragon. But to their horror, the dragon easily slaughtered the armies.
The dragon with its claws crushed many lives, with its tail it sent many combatants to their deaths and with its breaths decimated the battlefield. Almost killing everyone.
Just then, an old man wearing priest robes clasped his hands and prayed to the sky, hoping that their god would save them. In response to his prayers, the sky started to darken. Beside the priest, a white light shone brightly, and a giant man with long white hair and a beard, wearing white clothes, appeared and looked around the vicinity.
The priest in a praying gesture prayed, "Oh lord, please guide us in this hour of peril."
The god seeing the dragon slaughtering the humans that worshipped him became angry and roared, "FOOLISH DRAGON, HOW DARE YOU!!" The booming voice reverberated through the battlefield.
The dragon hearing the thunderous voice of the god, looked at the god's direction and roared back with equal ferocity.
"GARAaRAAraRAaa!!!"
The god seeing the dragon not stopping used his divine energy to empower the remaining army.
The soldiers after being blessed by their god became even more fearss and attacked in a frenzy and started to push back the dragon.
The dragon seeing this used its breath attack to slaughter the remaining army faster. So, the dragon could deal with the god.
The god seeing his believer die by dragon became even angrier. In anger, he used its divine energy to create a giant sword that glowed white.
The dragon recognised the danger of the sword and used its wings to fly up, creating distance and trying to avoid getting hit.
The god anticipating this used its divine energy to throw the sword at the flying dragon.
"Die!!"
The dragon unable to fly away in time got hit by the sword, which easily penetrated the dragon's scale.
The dragon feels immense pain from the stabbing and roars out, which shook the battlefield.

Tohru, sleeping in her room, suddenly woke up, gasping for breath. "Hah... Hah... Hah," she sighed, controlling her breath as she sat up and thought about the dream she just had.
"That dream again," she mutters to herself.
Now that she thinks about it. What she tried to do was extremely reckless and stupid. It could be said it was a miracle that she even survived that god's attack.
Tohru then unconsciously rubbed the place behind near the waist. If someone observed that place a faint mark of a stab could be seen.
But at that time, she couldn't help it. Watching those humans fighting over and over again. She wanted to do something, she wanted the war to stop. She didn't understand why they couldn't live in peace. So, she did the only thing she knew 'Fight'. Fight, whatever caused the war, no matter what it was…

Tohru, feeling uneasy about the dream, got up from her bed and looked out of the window. She realized it was midnight as she gazed at the sky. She changed out of her pyjamas and into her maid clothes, which she wore in her human form. Then, hesitating for a moment, she decided to go into her master's room, where Rihito was sleeping, hoping to find comfort beside him.
Leaving her room, Tohru looked at the next door beside her and stepped towards it, slowly opening the door so as not to wake up Rihito.
Tohru after confirming he didn't wake up, stood beside his bed staring at him, thinking about the three days she had spent with her new master, Rihito. He was a strange human, with an absurd amount of mana. It surpassed even her father's, who had the highest amount of mana among dragons. The difference is just astronomical.
Although he had immense mana that's not what made him strange, what's strange is his personality. Tohru to this day didn't understand why he didn't kill her, wasn't it normal to kill the enemy in a battle? She has seen many humans do that, even if they surrender, they still get killed. Then why did Rihito spare her?
Unable to think of an answer, Tohru decided to stop pondering it. She planned to ask Rihito directly later. Then she glanced at the open space on the bed beside him, choosing to lie down and pull over the blanket on herself, beside him she felt a strange sense of comfort.

Rihito, sensing someone's gaze on himself woke up but didn't open his eyes acting as if he was still asleep. He used his <Mana Sense> discreetly and found it was Tohru. She was standing near his bed staring at him without changing her expression.
By the way, today Rihito slept alone. Shea didn't try to sneak in today because of Myu. It's not like she needs to do that now, anyway.
Rihito, feeling curious acted as if he was still asleep and observed Tohru.

After half an hour, Tohru finally moved closer, laid down on my right side, and kept staring at me.

Rihito seeing this familiar situation thought, [Is she also acting like Shea.] He then opened his eyes and looked at Tohru, asking, "Tohru what are you doing? Did something happen?" he asked not understanding what she was trying to do.
"..."
Tohru, hearing the question paused for a second and decided to talk about the dream she had, "I had a dream. I was fighting in another world fighting an army. Then suddenly a sword ran through my body. Then I woke up." Tohru explained the minimum she could.

Rihito hearing her story was stunned and silent, he then used <Super Human Speed> to process the story he heard.
[Did she just say another world? She can go to other worlds? What kind of bullshit skill does she possess that allows her to do that. I need to ask her about that. But first, I need to cheer her up. I can always ask her later.]
As Rihito stopped using <Super Human Speed>, he couldn't help but notice the emotions flickering across her face—her sadness, and a hint of remorse.
I didn't know how to appease her, so I started with small talk.
"Did it hurt," I asked her.
"It did."
"Is it still hurting," I asked again.
Tohru turned her head left to right in denial, "No."
"Do you want to talk about it," I asked her.
"I, I don't want to," she denied.
I reached out my left hand to hold hers as I noticed her glum mood "Tohru, I don't know what you have been through before I met you. Even if you tell me I probably won't understand most of it, and that's understandable because I am not a dragon. In the near future there will be many things I will do that might seem trivial to you, and there will be many things you will do that might seem absurd to me. And that's ok. You are now my companion, so if anything troubles you. You can talk to me. If it is something you can't tell me then Talk to Shea, Yue, Hajime, and even Tio," he said the last name with a slight reluctance, shaking his head he continued, "What I am trying to say is we are here with you. If you are in trouble, just ask." saying that Rihito went silent and looked at the other side.
Upon hearing those words, Tohru felt happy. She tightened her grip on his hand. Then a sudden thought came across her mind, [If it was you instead of me, could you have stopped them?] Thinking that she closed her eyes to sleep beside him with a soft smile.
While Tohru slept peacefully beside Rihito, Rihito was cringing inside his mind. [Ugh, how the hell did I say those cheesy lines without gagging? Those words came out on reflex. It was like my body went on autopilot.] I sighed, [Well, at least those words calmed her, and from the looks of things she went to sleep. Guess I will ask her about her skills later.]

Next day.
Rihito woke up hearing a little girl's voice, "Papa, Papa… wake up, big sister Tohru has made breakfast, Let's go…"
"I am up, I am up," saying that I took Myu in my arms and kissed her on her cheek and she giggled.
"What did she cook," I asked with a groggy mind.
Myu tilted her and said, "I saw there was some meat. Big sister Tohru said it was a special meat for you papa, can I eat it with you."
Hearing about the special meat I snapped out of my groggy mind and looked at Myu, "You must never eat that You understand me."
Hearing my words Myu wined, "Eh!! But why?"
"No buts you will not eat that. You understand me."
Myu saw the serious look on Rihito's face and nodded reluctantly, "Ok."
Seeing Myu sad I spoke again, "No need to be so sad. Next time, I will cook a special dish for you."
Myu perked up hearing those words and exclaimed, "Really! You can cook papa."
"Yeah, now you should go to big sister Shea. I gonna go and freshen up."
Myu nodded at me and happily ran.
"..."
"Shit! Tohru cooked that again," I still remember that ominous meat. The last time I had used <Item Box> inside my mouth to seem like I was eating the thing, and it also helped that Tohru insisted on standing beside me while I ate, which helped to trick her.
"Sigh, guess I will have to do it again."
