"I don't understand, Malz..." Rain asked.
Malzkael sighed, moving to her bed and sitting, before she patted the place next to her.
"Look... Cassie's a bit intense when it comes to the whole Executioner thing. Even she probably doesn't know what she just did to you."
Rain sat next to her. "What was that?"
"You know what I'm talking about. Can we skip the pretense?"
Rain sighed. "Putting me in my place."
"Yep. The 'angelic duty.'"
"Thing is... I don't entirely know what came over me. I just... got so angry. It's been like this ever since I came to Heaven."
"Ever since you got your godflesh, you mean," Malz said.
Rain turned, staring at her. "How did you know?"
