Bai Xiaolian watched the car drive away, then walked to the front gate, bending down to retrieve the key hidden under a large potted plant and opened the door.

It was a habit between her and Luo Qianxun that only the two of them knew about.

Sometimes she would come to Luo Qianxun's place, and sometimes Luo Qianxun would go to hers. They each had access to the other's key.

On hearing the door open, Luo Qianxun woke with a start. She called out toward the door, "Is that you, Xiaolian?"

Li Mingxun had already had his head smashed by her; there was no way he'd come back to cause more trouble.

"Qianxun, it's me."

Bai Xiaolian put away the groceries in the kitchen and went into the room with the breakfast. Seeing Luo Qianxun pale-faced, she felt heartbroken. "I am so sorry, I didn't expect that jerk to treat you this way."

"I'm fine. Li Mingxun didn't get off any better; I hit him on the head with a cup."
