章 3292: Chapter 2434: Battle of the Bats (7)_1

The French National Library was not far from Spider Man's location, but the problem was that it was the territory of the Flame Gang, and if they wanted to enter, they had to defeat the gatekeeper there, and that gatekeeper was an extremely short-tempered old man, Max Kevin, whose ability was to spray plasma flames.

The personalities of the Flame Gang members were mostly highly aggressive, and Max was no exception. What made things more troublesome was that his sprayed flames were extremely hot, and the Spider-Men's uniforms couldn't withstand such heat for the time being. A mere touch would cause injury.

Gwen Spiderman thought that although communicating with the Time Manipulator was important, they shouldn't forget the purpose of their visit. Since Gwen had already entered, they still needed to find out the situation with the machine.

Shadow Spider-man considered it to be one and the same issue, as the Time Manipulator certainly knew what the machine being assembled by his X-Alliance was meant to do, so they should prioritize going to the library to find the Time Manipulator.

However, he also agreed that taking Gwen into battle was far too dangerous. They lacked the ability to defend against plasma flames. Perhaps they should retreat for the time being, upgrade their equipment, and then consider their next move.

But at that moment, Miles proposed a possibility: the French National Library had no fence, it was a building situated beside the Seine River within a public area, designed from the outset to promote public participation, enjoyment, and study. Normally, it was well-secured with human patrols.

But now, in the entirety of Paris City, apart from these chaotic personae, there were no ordinary residents. To guard such a vast public space with just one person, unless he truly had the ability to create duplicates, the loopholes and flaws were too numerous.

Could there be a possibility that they could actually bypass the gatekeeper and stealthily sneak in to find the Time Manipulator?

It wasn't out of the question because obviously, the Time Manipulator was not allied with the Flame Gang, and he didn't care how they got in, as long as they found him. Winning without fighting was the most ingenious strategy.

Miles downloaded several versions of the Paris map, and everyone started comparing them, then they realized that it might indeed be feasible. The new building of the National Library was very close to the Seine River. If they approached from the riverside, it was not possible for one person to guard the entire riverside.

"I think we can go have a look first," Gwen said, "Circle to the other side of the river and observe from there. This way, we're not easily discovered, and even if we are, the river water is the best fire extinguisher."

They all thought the plan was feasible, so they headed towards their target location. There happened to be a cafe with a terrace across the river. As they ascended to the terrace, they saw red and green lights flickering ceaselessly within the public library, bustling with excitement.

"What's happening?" Miles placed his hand above his eyes to look into the distance, speaking with some confusion, "It looks like there's a fight going on there. Should we get closer to have a look?"

Shadow Spider-man put back his binoculars and said, "There's a guy glowing green all over fighting with Max. Let's get closer and see what's really going on."

In no time, they arrived on this side of the river and made their way to the side of the library, hiding behind a building to watch the two figures, one red and one green, stand off in the square ahead.

Just as Gwen Spiderman was about to speak, she felt her calf being touched. She turned her head and saw a pair of vertical pupils staring at her intently.

"Aisha, what are you doing here?" Gwen Spiderman was surprised and turned around to lift Aisha into her arms.

They had met on the cruise ship in Gotham, where the Spider-Men were having a water fight and Wanda was playing with this little girl.

"Where's your dad?" Gwen Spiderman looked around and inquired, "Didn't Bruce come?"

Aisha shook her head and pointed behind her, saying, "I came with a friend."

Then, a golden light flashed, and Harley, Barry, and Little Bruce appeared behind the group of Spider-Men.

"Do you recognize that guy in front?" Miles asked, pointing with his thumb at the person glowing green on the square ahead and said, "He looks a bit like that Green Lantern Hal we saw before."

"He is a Green Lantern, but not Hal. He's instead a Green Lantern Batman from some world who got hold of a Green Lantern Ring," someone replied.

The Spider-Men immediately showed surprise, and Shadow Spider-man spoke with a hint of doubt, "Did you bring him here?"

Aisha sighed with feigned maturity and said, "It's not like we wanted to bring him here. This guy is too much trouble."

Previously, as Parallax, Aisha had possessed Little Bruce and easily knocked out Green Lantern Batman, but what to do with him after he was unconscious was the tricky part.

They tried many methods but could not remove the Lantern ring from his hand. In the end, they had to seek out the Lantern Corps members surrounded by those monsters. From them, Aisha and her companions learned that the ring on young Bruce's hand was problematic.

The creatures manifested by Bruce were not entirely composed of Green Lantern energy, otherwise, they wouldn't have put so many Lantern Corps members in such a sorry state.

These monsters contained a strange energy that the Corps members had never seen before. Their Green Lantern energy was not a threat to this energy—they couldn't dismantle it or change it, but this energy could indeed harm them.

An experienced Lantern hero suggested that this might be an indication of the Lantern ring being contaminated. There was a problem with the power output portal, leading to the output energy being tainted with unidentified substances.

They proposed to take Bruce back to the Lantern Corps to be revived, but Little Bruce flatly refused. He told Aisha and the others that if they let this group take Bruce now, it was certain that they would inadvertently contaminate him during their studies, eventually leading to the entire Lantern Corps being annihilated.

Given Little Bruce's extensive experience dealing with the Evil God, Aisha decided to trust him. They fought with the Lantern Corps and then took away the unconscious Bruce.

Now they, too, became targets of the Lantern Corps' manhunt, because the Little Blue People were eager to figure out how Bruce had managed to break through the Lantern ring's limitations. Therefore, they dispatched even more personnel to this place, chasing Aisha and her team to the point of total chaos.

Aisha knew it was time to leave, but since Bruce was carrying contamination, bringing him into their own cosmos could be disastrous. It was not appropriate to take him back to anyone's cosmos. In the end, they decided to dump the guy into the Battleworld.

Battleworld is a very special place, not within any cosmos, yet it can be used to travel through any cosmos. It has the blessing of the highest deities of both universes, and all harmful forces dissipate into nothingness there.

A group of people took Bruce back, but since Bruce was a living person, not an object, he would wake up sooner or later. If he woke up and made a huge fuss, they would definitely be scolded.

The group thought about finding a remote, uninhabited crevice in the cosmos to dump him and be done with it when they encountered Nick, who was there for work. They learned from Nick that the opposite cosmos was experiencing some trouble. An uncontrollable Mutant had a bunch of dangerous personalities inside their brain, and now they couldn't find more people to deal with it.

Aisha and her team thought that since the man would be disposed of anyway, they might as well make use of waste. Although this guy was bad and stupid, not all of those personalities were necessarily smart. They decided to find an even more foolish one and throw him over there, letting the two fight it out, one less with each death.

After obtaining Nick's consent, they put Bruce into David's Psychic_Battlefield. It so happened that at that time, Max, who possessed fire abilities, was fighting with another personality. Their moves were both very cool, catching the immediate attention of Aisha and her crew.

So, after Max exerted quite a bit of effort to scare off another personality, they immediately seized the opportunity to throw Bruce at Max.

Of course, before throwing him, they did not forget to wake up Bruce first. Thus, the freshly awakened Green Lantern Batman saw an old man with bulging eyes, a ferocious face, who could shoot fire, screaming chaotically at him.

Green Lantern Batman was really not like Batman at all. He had a terrible temper, was emotionally unstable, mood swings, capricious, and what's more, the contamination might have affected his brain, causing him to have a serious propensity for violence. He wasn't much like the dark Batman, more like an irate, bald guy.

The old man blasted him with a fire attack. Green Lantern Batman, who had just mastered grappling techniques, how could he bear it? He immediately took to the air, covering his fist with Green Lantern energy to return the favor in kind.

Their fight was actually quite spectacular to watch. Although Green Lantern Batman only knew those three moves, the personality called Max also only had that playbook of three moves: one was to hold his hands in front of the chest and spew out plasma flames, one was to emit fire all over his body for close combat attacks, and another was to control plasma fireballs for long-range attacks.

This exchange of playbook moves was evenly matched, a worthy opponent for each other, neither gaining the upper hand as they went back and forth.

However, Green Lantern Batman soon faced a serious problem. In the Marvel cosmos and in the Legion's Psychic_Battlefield, there is no Emotional Spectrum. Green Lantern energy is just one type of energy, no different from any other energy, and must be replenished once depleted.

Without the Emotional Spectrum in the cosmos, Green Lantern energy naturally could not be replenished, whereas the opponent's flames seemed to be endless.

The watching Spider-Men also realized this. They had planned to sneak in while the two were busy fighting, but if Green Lantern Batman was defeated so quickly, Max would definitely turn his attention towards them.

Harley could only shrug and said to Barry, "Looks like you have to run another errand."

Barry spread his hands helplessly, struck a running pose with black and gold light shining from the soles of his feet, and whoosh, he disappeared. Then, with another whoosh, he reappeared on the spot, holding a glowing green Lantern Furnace in his hand.

However, Gwen Spiderman and Miles frowned at the action Barry had just taken because it reminded them of someone they had just seen.

"Sorry, are you The Flash?" Gwen Spiderman asked uncertainly, "Um, I mean, I might have seen an adult version of you, but are you him? Barry Allen?"

"Yes, did you see another me on that ship? That's really me."

"But we just saw another you, to be precise, it seemed like a combination of you and Batman." Gwen Spiderman continued, frowning, "He had the appearance of Batman but had your powers. The Time Manipulator also said that his speed was so fast it exceeded time."

Barry and Harley exchanged glances, realizing that in some cosmos similar to this Green Lantern Batman, Batman had become The Flash.

"Where is he?" Barry asked.

"He fought with the Time Manipulator but wasn't a match for him. If you want to find him, it won't be easy. He's too fast, and he's always running..."

"Always running?" Barry immediately realized something.

"Yes," Gwen Spiderman confirmed.

Barry grabbed Harley's arm and said, "We need to find him fast. The Flash can run very fast, but he can't run too fast, otherwise..."
