章 1938: Chapter 1308: Interstellar Grand Stage (15)_2

"Quit making a fuss."

Shiller's voice was so low, it was almost a whisper. He was sitting in the dim light, writing something on a medical chart. Then he tapped on the railing with the end of his pen and said, "Sit across from me, and we'll discuss your situation."

"Seriously!?" Xu Shang-Chi threw his hands up incredulously. "You transmigrated to become a psychologist? And for S.H.I.E.L.D., no less? Do you have any idea what's going to happen in a few years? That Purple Sweet Potato Spirit will snap his fingers, and half of the people will die. That's billions of lives we're talking about!"

Xu Shang-Chi felt himself crumbling. He paced around the room, clutching his arm. "On my way to do my internship, my taxi collided with a big truck. 'Bang', and I knew nothing more."

"The next thing I know, it's another 'bang' – a bullet hit the back of my head. I clearly heard a scream before feeling a burning sensation throughout my body," he continued.

Suddenly, I felt a coolness at the back of my head, the bullet had disappeared. Six or seven policemen were pointing their guns at me, but I didn't run because of that. I felt like I was about to explode, and I didn't want to blow them up with me."

Xu Shang-Chi's aggravation grew as he spoke, and he kicked the foot of the bed angrily. "I don't know what I did to deserve this! Transmigrating is one thing, but into the body of Xu Shang-Chi of all people! If I ever catch sight of that Fu Manzhou, I'll smash his face in!"

After speaking, he kicked the foot of the bed again, producing another 'bang' sound. He was panting heavily, clearly very upset. He tossed his head and said, "These American police officers are ruthless! I saw them take down two or three protestors with my own eyes, and now they've thrown me in here, those damn lackeys!"

It was evident that the young man in front of him wasn't very good at insulting people. Even when he cursed in Chinese, his vocabulary was limited. Suddenly, he turned to Shiller as if he had just come to his senses.

Looking at Shiller's Caucasian appearance, he suddenly said, "Judging from your Chinese accent, you must also be Chinese? Oh well, Xu Shang-Chi is Xu Shang-Chi. At least he still looks like a descendant of the dragon."

Shiller just sat calmly in his seat, observing the young man. One moment, he's ranting, the next, he's gloating. Quietly, he formed a mental portrait of the young man.

To his surprise, the young man sat down next to him and turned to look at him. "You're also quite unfortunate, transmigrating into an ordinary person in a world of superheroes where you have to work overtime."

"But it's kind of nice this way. Even if Xu Shang-Chi had somehow developed his inner power, it's all wasted on me. I can't control the energy within my body anyway. Whoever said that all transmigrators could adapt without guidance?"

Xu Shang-Chi waved his hand dismissively, appearing somewhat helpless. He heaved a sigh soon after, "I also wonder how my mom is doing. Knowing that I died in a car accident, she must be devastated. Thankfully, I have a brother and a sister who can take care of her."

He lifted his head to look around the mental hospital room. "You know, it's kind of weird. I haven't seen Spider-Man swinging around or Iron Man flying by in all these days. I was hoping to get a photo."

"I've only watched the movies, never read the comics. Perhaps this is what Marvel meant by the Multiverse? Or maybe it's the Future Universe? I hope it's the latter, so I wouldn't have to face the Purple Sweet Potato Spirit."

Shiller turned to look at his profile and asked, "Do you plan to become a superhero? Save the other half of the people from Thanos?"

"Who knows?" Xu Shang-Chi shrugged. "I can't gamble on being one of the survivors. If I'm going to die anyway, I might as well use my special abilities to fight the Purple Sweet Potato Spirit. Who knows, maybe the reason I was brought here was to avert the tragedy in the movies?"

Xu Shang-Chi rubbed his nose and said, "When I watched the end of 'The Avengers 3', I cried my eyes out. I don't know why, maybe I just couldn't accept these superheroes dying."

Shiller pointed again to the bed opposite. Xu Shang-Chi was visibly much more relaxed. As he sat down, Shiller looked into his eyes and said, "I see a clear naivety in your eyes. Are you a university student?"

Xu Shang-Chi nodded, "I just graduated from college and was doing an internship. I died on my way to it."

Before Shiller had a chance to ask another question, Xu Shang-Chi let out a deep sigh. "You might have transmigrated earlier and didn't see the movie 'Shang-Chi'. After discovering I'd turned into Xu Shang-Chi, I was almost desperate! You have no idea how terribly that movie turned out!"

"Even if one can argue that beauty is subjective when it comes to the actor's looks, the storyline and pacing were beyond horrible. There was no aesthetics in the cinematography, and the costumes looked tasteless. I felt sick for a week after watching it, yuck…"

Xu Shang-Chi made a disgusted face and held his arm. "There are hardly any respectable Eastern heroes in Marvel, they're all victims of stereotypical prejudice! Thankfully, the original Xu Shang-Chi was shot and probably killed. That's why I replaced him."
