章 140: Name

Zariel hadn't much interest in Gharrs' invitation, though Aurelia could not say the same. She appeared excited, curious of those her age, or at least near it. Ghar was nearly three years her elder, already in the Fifth Star, commanding a presence that dominated the air around him. 

"We would love it," Aurelia said, ignoring the annoyed look Zariel was giving her. "Come on, Malos. "She took him by the arm, dragging him away despite his physical protest; she pulled him away like a feather. 

Zariel cursed her inhuman strength, relenting to his fate. It was an effort to fit in. Even amongst his peers at Trinity, he couldn't be bothered to communicate with others if he didn't have to. When he did, it was always from a place of power. Never as an equal or peer.

It felt awkward to be surrounded by strangers whose names, even after introductions, eluded him. As did the mystery meat that curved his appetite into the gutters.
