"Celebrities and people of high status frequent here. It's difficult to dine here since one has to book a table at least two month in advance. And trust me, not everyone can afford to pay for a table here," Brayden who turned around to see Jillian's excited eyeballs murmured.
"Also, you are gonna see more celebrities as you stroll in. You will only end up embarrassing yourself if you don't put your emotions in check," Brayden warned in advance, immediately following the waiter's lead.
Although she knew she wasn't supposed to ogle, Jillian couldn't resist taking a longer stares at the popular celebrities she was only privileged to see on televisions.
After they took their position on the blue table the waiter directed them to, Jillian repeatedly stole glances at her back where Apple sat with her manager.
"Mom, do you like her?" Monalisa asked after she caught Jillian staring at idol Apple for the fifth time since they sat down.
"Absolutely!" Jillian exclaimed, her eyeballs dancing in excitement.
"I love her voice and songs so much. Her songs were what kept me going for more than half a decade. Whenever it felt like my world was crumbling, her songs gave me the strength to carry on like no other singers had done," Jillian said, clutching the menu in her right hand.
"You talk as if…"
"Do you want us to get you Sister Apple's autograph?" Marley asked. Marley and Monalisa stood up from the chair before Jillian could reply.
"Don't be silly and sit down," Brayden commanded but alas, Monalisa and Marley weren't the type to do as told.
They were already out of reach before the two adults could do anything to stop them.
Apple's manager sprang up from her seat the instant she sighted the two girls approaching their table.
While the lady in green shirt tried to stop Marley, Monalisa used this opportunity to run to the front of the table so that Apple could see her.
"Hi Sister Apple," Monalisa greeted in her tiny voice while waving at the lady putting on dark glasses.
Raising her head up, the astounded lady immediately took off her glasses as soon as she saw set eyes on Monalisa's.
"Miss I am sorry…"
"Monalisa!" Apple, the lady with dark makeup wearing a black shiny jacket, greeted, her smile spread to her eyes.
"What are you doing here and where is Marley?" The celebrity who was currently the centre of attention asked, tilting her head to look behind her.
"Pie, I know them so that is enough," Apple cautioned her manager who was still struggling to keep Marley under control.
Brayden who was about to pull Marley away, also paused when he noticed that the lady was cool with having the naughty girls around.
"So how have you girls been? Also, I want to sincerely apologise that I couldn't make it to your Dad's burial. I had a concert that day," Apple spoke, shifting her gaze from one girl to the other.
"We are fine Sister Apple," Marley replied smiling. Marley nudged and signalled Monalisa to say what brought them there but she refused.
"What is it? Do you ahve something to tell me?" Apple, who noticed the secret exchanges between the girls, asked curiously.
"Sister Apple, my mom loves you a lot. Can you write her an autograph? I am sure that will make her smile," Monalisa finally spoke up.
"Did you just say your Mom?" Apple asked with widened eyes.
"Yes, that is her," Marley said proudly pointing at the back of the lady sitting about ten steps away from Apple's table.
"That is your Mom?" Apple quizzed still in shock.
'Didn't Ethan say that the kids had no mother and there was no news of him getting married before his death, so how come the girls are referring to that woman as their mother?' Apple wandered, she stretched a bit hoping to get a glimpse of Jillian's face.
Curious to see the face of the lady in blue dress, Apple stood up from her seat but before she could take a step a forward a lady's scream made her tilt her head towards where the noise came from.
"I vividly remembered asking you to get me item three on the menu but you had guts to call me liar after misplacing my order," the furious lady in a mini dress shouted, and slappef the waitress across her face.
"She is at it again," Apple's manager murmured to Brayden's hearing.
"Gina, calm down…"
"And why should I calm down when this fool had the effrontery to call me a liar to my face?" Gina, the heiress of LetTech snapped at her companion.
"Miss Gina, I really heard you say I should get you item five…"
"You still have the nerves to insist that I lied," Gina growled, raising her hand to slap the waitress again.
Just when her hands were about to land on the lady's face, Jillian came to the waitress' rescue.
"Miss Gina, in a haste to attend to other customers the waitress must have misplaced your orders for another customer's…" Jillian shook her head and signalled the wronged waitress not to utter a word more since her insistence will only infuriate the angry heiress than she already was.
"On behalf of her and the entire restaurant we deeply apologise for the inconveniences," Jillian bowed along with the reluctant waitress.
"She has no connections to the restaurant or whatsoever, so how come she is apologising for the waitress mistake?" Brayden murmured, puzzled at what he was seeing.
"If you exercise a bit of patience I promise that we will have your order served in the soonest time possible," Jillian assured, staring at the woman who seemed to have calmed down a bit.
After a few minutes of trying to butter up the angry lady, Jillian succeeded at easing her anger and was able to return to their table to join Brayden and the girls.
The earlier furious lady only realised that Jillian was a customer like her when she sat down at table not far away from hers.
By the time Jillian settled down she was surprised to see that Apple was no longer in the restaurant.
"Mom, look at what we got for you?" Monalisa said to the disappointed lady who hadn't picked up her cutlery though the salad dish she ordered had been in front of her for over five minutes.
