Almost half an hour had passed since Javier gave Natalie an extensive tour pointing out the locations of every camera around the mansion. She found herself back inside the winter garden, everything ready, yet Alonso was still nowhere to be found.

Is he not coming, then?

...Should I blow the candles and give up?

Sitting on the warm blanket next to the electric heater, she jumped when her phone rang then hunched her shoulders again when seeing Kevin's name on the screen.

"Hey, Kev."

"…Why are you in such a bad mood?"

"It's nothing," she lied, "How are you?"

"Hah~" he let out a long sigh, "I have mixed feelings about what I'm about to tell you, but I thought you should know since you're my one and only partner."

She rolled her eyes then felt guilty about it; this was clearly work-related and she needed to focus.
