In the middle of a forest, nearly 30,000 Exeggutors and Exeggutes were preparing another round of Solar Beams when they felt some spatial fluctuations in the skies. Immediately, everyone turned their eyes towards the sky and saw Sabrina and her Pokemons.
"Annihilate them!"
Sabrina had long explained her plan to all her Pokemons. There wasn't a need to pass orders one by one. All the Pokemons immediately got into action.
Needless to say, the first one to make a move was her Alakazam. He teleported and directly appeared in front of the strongest Exeggutor. Her Gengar and Slowking took on the remaining two Pseudo Champion Exeggutors.
Her remaining Psychic Pokemons targeted other Elite Exeggutors. Only Gardevoir stayed back to protect Sabrina from any sneak attack, in case Team Wraith planned to target Sabrina.
After Psychic Pokemons made a move, the Bug type Pokemons began acting. Bug energy surrounded all Butterfree and Venomoth. They immediately attacked with Bug Buzz. Meanwhile, the Parasects began releasing an obscene amount of Poison Powder.
Back in the Saffron Gym, Orion once again stood in the library. He looked towards Sabrina's direction with a shocked expression. He muttered to himself, 'That's crazy! They are quite some distance from the city and yet I can feel their auras… And, one of those feels stronger than even the Pokemon maintaining the barrier! How freaking strong are they?'
Orion was shocked. But he wasn't the only one who was stunned. Most Trainers fighting on the frontlines could sense the auras. They immediately became nervous as none of them could stand against such Pokemons.
'Don't worry. The aura of the Pokemons you are feeling belongs to Gym Leader Sabrina. Very soon, the leaders of this Pokemon Tide will be crushed. Then, the Tide will slowly fizzle out. Stay strong.'
Hearing the telepathic message from their respective leaders, the morale of the Pokemon Trainers surged. They quickly got on the offensive. Only two people had gloomy expressions.
Galea sighed and said, "Her Alakazam is crazy strong. In a one-on-one fight, I won't stand a chance against her."
Vulcan agreed, "Yeah. None of us would. Other than Boss, the remaining three of us won't even be able to escape."
Galea asked, "Why exactly are we fighting in Kanto? There are so many Trainers here who could crush us with ease. Why didn't the boss ever migrate Team Wraith to one of the weaker regions where only their Champion and former Champions could resist us?"
A wide devilish grin appeared on Vulcan's face. He asked, "Where's the fun in dominating a weak region? How could eliminating towns held by weak Gym Leaders compare to destroying a city controlled by a Trainer like Sabrina? How can it match the thrill of playing with Elite Fours who are stronger than us? Not to mention the monsters from whom we must absolutely hide!
There is no way our boss will do something cowardly like targeting a weaker region. Besides, our target is in the Silph Co. We can't get our hands on their technology in any other region."
Galea sighed on seeing his expression. She didn't have the same mindset as him. She thought, 'If I didn't know that the boss would hunt me down, I'd have already left and migrated to a weaker region. This region has too many monsters…'
With Sabrina attacking the Exeggutors, all the long-range attacks stopped. The two colonies led by Pseudo Champion Pokemons reached Saffron City.
Eliza's unit moved to intercept the Nido family. Her level 71 Alakazam confronted the level 73 Nidoking. At the same time, Koichi's group moved to intercept the Ninetales. Unlike Eliza, he had three Pokemons that were in the Pseudo Champion tier. His group easily overpowered the Ninetales colony.
With all the strongest players making a move, the battle became very intense. For the first time since the battle began, the Saffron City armies went on the offensive. It would be the crucial day of the war!
Despite the intensity of the war, Vulcan and Galea didn't make any move to take advantage of the situation. In a cafe, which was empty due to the tide, a fearsome lady was making her own drink.
Lorelei looked towards the tide and thought, 'They aren't making any moves despite such intensity. Team Wraith has some other plans. We will need to wait for some more time to eliminate them.'
A couple of hours after the city had been attacked by the massive Solar Beams, the battle finally had a result!
Deep inside the forest, Sabrina and William's Pokemons had wrecked the Exeggutors and Exeggcutes. Every single one of them had been eliminated. The Bug type Pokemons took care of the weaker ones with their wide range Bug type attacks while the stronger ones were dealt with by Sabrina's Pokemons.
Around the same time, Koichi's group had destroyed the Ninetales colony. The Pseudo Champion Ninetales was worn down by Koichi's Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and Hitmontop and eventually died to their combination attacks. Only Eliza was still in an intense battle with the Nidoking.
Sabrina returned to the city and observed the situation on the battlefield. Gardevoir asked, 'Should I help out Eliza?'
Sabrina shook her head and replied, 'No, this is a good opportunity for her. If she can deal with a Pseudo Champion tier Pokemon alone, she'll be a great help when the real Tide arrives. Just keep an eye on her. If she or her Alakazam are about to be killed, save them.'
Gardevoir nodded and teleported away. Sabrina instructed, 'Alakazam, keep an eye on any suspicious movements. Team Wraith will likely not make a move now as they missed their best opportunity. However, they might try to take advantage if we lower our guard.'
'Alright.' Alakazam replied.
With Vulcan having decided against making a move, Sabrina's guard was pointless. The battle continued. Around an hour later, Eliza managed to eliminate the Level 73 Nidoking, following which her army eliminated most of the Pokemons in his colony.
With the leaders of the Tide dead, the morale of the Pokemons in the Tide dropped. With Eliza and Koichi still taking the lead, the army went on an all-out offence. By the time the Sun was about to set, an announcement rang throughout the city.
Over 2 million Pokemons had been eliminated that day! Most of the Elite Pokemons were eliminated as well. Only around half a million Pokemons were still alive in the tide.
As soon as he heard the news, a glint appeared in Orion's eyes. He thought, 'That's great. Finally, it'll be safer to observe from close up…'
"Kadabra, teleport us close to the city borders but stay away from the rear of the Army."
Hearing his instruction, Kadabra's Psychic energy covered the three of them and they disappeared from the Gym!
