"On your knees," his voice commanded, causing her eyes to dart upwards. His golden gaze pierced through her, chilling her to the bone.

"At least show me your resolve by what you're willing to do to live," said Alex.

'Aren't I already begging while crawling on the floor? Didn't you already shatter my pride?' thought Emma, but she didn't dare to voice her thoughts.

As Alex raised his sword, Emma flinched involuntarily.

She forcibly moved her limbs using her mana, as her tendons were severed, and it took a few minutes to drop to her knees, ignoring the pain as the fear that he might change his mind consumed her.

She placed her forehead on Alex's foot, mimicking how a lowly slave would prostrate before their master.

"P-please have mercy on me, master. Please...." Her sobs soon turned into desperate cries.

Keeping his eye on her, Alex slowly dispelled the aura from his sword.
