章 9: Time Skip (Part 2)
"Welcome to Dream Land," said the voice.
Upon arriving, I was greeted with a small Baku, no smaller than my feet. Everything in this so-called "Dream Land" was just void and space. But after a few minutes, it suddenly changed into many different scenes: forests getting burnt, villages getting destroyed, a house burning with a family asking a boy for help, to a calming forest full of green and bright flowers.
"W-What the hell is happening?" I asked.
"This place is called Dream Land. It is the land of my people, the Tapirs. This land can be whatever we desire, as it runs on nothing but the dreams of our prey," answered Baku.
After saying those words, many eyes appeared inside the forest. Many of the eyes had different sizes, some small, and some gigantic.
"In this place, we are omnipotent; we can do whatever we please and even change our different sizes," said a gigantic Tapir that emerged from the forest.
"Elder," greeted Baku.
Walking out of the dark forest, what I saw shocked me. The "elder" had a body made out of galaxies. Her right eye had the symbol of the Sun, while the left had the moon. I was expecting something similar to Baku, but I didn't think she would look like a god.
"I am not a God. I am the Elder of the dream Tapirs, and this appearance is not my true form," she said.
'What?!' I thought.
I was shocked at what she said. I didn't mention anything about a God, but I did think about it... Does that mean that she can read my mind?
"Yes, I can read your mind. Like I said before, in this place, we are omnipotent," she confirmed, grinning at me. "I also know why you are here, and I must warn you, our sage mode is much different than those disgusting toads."
"Is that so? Can you explain more about your sage mode? I will give you anything in return, once I have finished sage mode," I said.
The elder didn't seem amused at what I said. It made me confused because I thought that would please her. She glared at me for a few more seconds and finally said, "We are not like those snakes from Ryūchi Cave; we do not need anything but the dreams of the people. The only reason why I am doing this for you is because I do not want to see them from your memory."
Understanding, I simply nodded to the elder and asked more about the Sage mode they offer. What she told me shocked me. She told me that the sage mode they have is made from dreams of creatures; the more powerful the person that is dreaming is, the more nature dream comes out of said person. With 'dream mode,' the user can absorb these natural dreams and enhance their chakra, physical power, mental power, instinct, and many more. However, the power has a downside. If the person has a weak mentality and cannot overcome a dream, then they can potentially be killed by the dream. Additionally, once the dream mode is over, the person will be in a state of sleep for several days, and his physical body will be tired once the user wakes up.
From what I heard from the elder, the power it can give is immense, but the drawbacks are also great. This type of mode must only be used if the user has controlled emotion and has the ability to maintain his mental power.
"Shall we start?" asked the elder.
The process of 'dream mode' involved being immersed in a dream that operated on a different time scale than the real world. Just as when you fall asleep and wake up feeling as though no time has passed, in this scenario, the dream could progress slowly while the external world experienced time at a normal pace for the dreamers.
The training that I will be doing will be 3 years, but outside, it would only be 3 days. I have asked the Elder to make it 100 years, as she can always change the speed of time, but she told me that I was not ready for that, and so I listened.

Time Skip 1 week
Ennozo POV
The past week has been great. Sakumo sensei has taught me a lot, and my kenjutsu has improved significantly compared to where it was a week ago. Though training under Sakumo sensei has been fantastic, I still cannot wait until Danzo-sama returns. I don't know what he has in store for me, but I trust Danzo-sama to make me stronger.
This week was also when I finally came close to beating Kakashi in school sparring. I think Suzusumi finally noticed me. It was satisfying to see everyone shocked when I landed a hit on Kakashi. Kakashi was even more surprised than the others because I was a nobody just a few months ago. Obito also showed noticeable improvement, but he always messes up during class sparring, so no one really notices his improvements except me and Kakashi.
After the sparring match, I bumped into Kakashi while Sakumo and I were practicing—seeing me train with his father didn't sit well with Kakashi. He asked his father to teach him more about Kenjutsu too, but he never joins me and Obito whenever we train.
"That's it for today. You should go and rest," said Sakumo.
I smiled at Sakumo sensei and replied, "Thank you, but I'll stay here for a bit."
"Alright, just don't overdo it," he cautioned.
I simply nodded at Sakumo sensei and watched him leave the training ground. I usually train here until night falls, as I want to impress Danzo-sama once he returns.
But when I thought about Danzo-sama, everything suddenly went black, and all the bustling noise outside disappeared. My heart raced, my hair spiked up, and my blood boiled, ready to fight at any moment.
I soon heard a voice coming from behind me saying, "Well, I guess you didn't slack off after all."
