章 5: Mutual Intrest
"Cut !" Director Baz Luhrmann finally ended the extremely embarrassing shoot. Both Leonardo and Eve immediately separated and covered themselves with the sheets. Director didn't seem to see the embarrassment of actors and excitedly yelled: "Well done Leonardo, Eve. I tell you it's going to be the most beautiful 'Romeo and Juliet' ever."
Eve rolled her eyes and went to get ready for the next take. Poor Leonardo was the one left to listen the tortureous talk of Director Baz. The shooting progress continued at a fast pace and a month passed since the start of shooting.
Today was a break from shooting, and Director Baz was showing Eve and Leonardo the rough cut version of the scenes they have shot till now. Director's wife Catherine Martin was also present watching the clips.
While showing the romance clip, Director suddenly said: "Eve, you are so beautiful. Everyone will be a fan of yours once they see this scene."
"Thank you." Although it seemed a little off, but Eve thanked anyway.
Catherine glared at her husband. What the hell is he babbling. The girl is twenty years younger than you. Leonardo also looked at Director as if accusing him of Pedophilia.
Baz Luhrmann saw the glare of his wife, and immediately understood that he had said something wrong. He hurriedly explained: "Eve, I didn't mean to say this. It's just I feel like I have seen your looks and behaviour somewhere before. I don't mean anything wrong."
Leonardo looked at Director as if looking at a fool. Are you clearing the misunderstanding or deliberately increasing. Anyone can tell these are pickup lines. The look in Catherine's eyes was of murder.
Eve laughed. She looked at the embarrassd Director and said with a smile: "I know Director you don't mean it. You must be talking about my grandmother. I didn't know you were also her fan."
Leonardo asked curiously: "Who is your grandmother?" Other two also looked for the answer.
Eve answered: "Merilyn Monroe. You must've heard of her before."
A wave of surprise flashed on everyone's face and then it turned into a shock. Merilyn Monroe, a legendary name in Hollywood. One of the best actresses of Hollywood in Golden age, and a symbol of charm and sexiness.
Baz Luhrmann exclaimed: "How could Merilyn have children. I mean why doesn't anyone know." his emotions were a little excited. Merilyn is the goddess in the hearts of most of the middle aged people today, and they are used to seeing her sexy and charming. Now her granddaughter has grown so big and has even started acting, it's a surprise for him.
Catherine's had a complicated look on her face while looking at Eve. This girl has almost all the things which one needs to become a successful actress, and now she has a background unmatched by anyone. As an actress and producer, she herself knows how much these middle-aged and old guys admire Merilyn, even her husband is an example of this. They will surely be crazy after knowing the news of her granddaughter entering Hollywood.
Leonardo didn't have much to say. Although he has heard about Merilyn, but hasn't watched her movies. So it doesn't matter much to him. What he is interested in is Eve.
The next few days of the shooting were a little a different. Director started taking extra shots of Eve during the shoot. Whenever he had the chance, he would complain it's such a pity that Eve's hair were dyed instead of using the original blond ones.
Eve's work was completed by the end of Febuary, and the remaining scenes of Leonardo are just left. Although she wanted to stay a little longer, but Kevin called Eve and asked her to return immediately after completing her work. He has some work related matters to discuss with her.
Eve was packing her luggage when the room's door knocked. She opened the door and found Leo standing outside. He entered the room without asking as he usually do and sat on the bed. Eve also doesn't mind his habbit. He has never tried to take advantage or behaved inappropriately, so she's also lenient with him in this regard.
"Are you leaving?" asked Leonardo.
"Yes, tomorrow morning." replied Eve while putting her things in the bag. Suddenly, she was hugged from behind and Leonardo placed his head on her shoulder. She was alerted but seeing it's Leo, she relaxed and just pushed him away.
Leronardo doesn't seem to be bothered by Eve's attempt to push him away. He said in her ear: "I will miss you a lot." saying that, he moved back and left the room.
Looking at Leo's leaving back, Eve didn't stop him and sighed. She knows the fact that Leonardo likes her. She also has a little affection for him, but it's not possible between them. The affection she has is only temporary and is because of the constant shooting with him everyday. It's quite common among actors and it will go away in few days. Leo's intrests change everyday and she has no time for casual relationships. So she can't give a useless hope to him and herself.
In fact, the thing Eve was unaware of is the fact Leo was seriously intrested in her, not just a casual relationship he usually has. But he didn't tell this to Eve and Eve's perception of Leonardo's usual relationships stopped her from asking this.
