Chi Weiran barely recalled what had occurred the previous night in the burial hall. He realised that he was too rash and unfair to his older brother, but by nature, he was unable to control himself from weeping. He wept until he passed out, unsure of how he came to be in the arms of his stoic mentor.

Awakening the following morning, Chi Weiran listlessly opened his amber-yellowish eyes, blinking a few times to adjust his vision. He found himself lying over his mentor's bare and cold chest while the older male stared back at him with an unfeeling gaze.

Taken by surprise, Chi Weiran's eyes immediately widened and he began to recoil but his mentor's rough hand perched on his waist to stop him. Much like the older male, Chi Weiran's upper body was bare while his skin pressed directly against his mentor's.
