章 20: Care
In the living room, the couple comforts each other sitting on a couch while only the low sound of the television ensues in the background. The setting sun peeps through the window panels, shining light inside the room, making it a quiet ambiance.
Anita is holding onto me in a pretty clingy way as if I'd make a run for it or something if she let go even for a millisecond. Her hand is caressing my torso, as she makes up and down motions, feeling the bandages wrapped up around me. She raises her head and asks,
"Honeybee, when was the last time you reapplied those...bandages...?
"Y-Yesterday, after a shower...", I bring a hand up to my temple and scratch the side of my head, as I whisper nervously feeling her intentions.
Anita leans into Adrian and rubs her head against the bandages feeling the rough yet gentle texture of them along her cheeks. A faint sense of guilt runs over her, making her regret all the abuse she put him through. The doctor's advice echoes in her mind as she recalls that night.
"I...I don't want you getting an infection or getting even more sick...", Anita mutters almost inaudibly.
She brings her head up, and murmurs as she places her hands on my face with a gentle touch caressing me,
"L-Let me take care of you. I'll redress your body, today?"
Taken aback, I hesitate for a moment before a delicate grin appears on my face. Leaning closer, I gently plant a kiss on her forehead as her eyes gently shut, feeling a silent connection lingering between us.

In the dimly lit room, Adrian lies with his body stark naked. A singular towel hides his lower body with a slight outline showing. Anita stands sternly beside him, with her gaze fixed on the bandages.
Anita gulps nervously, as she unwraps the bandages unlocking the hooks of the bandage, before lightly holding my back up making an arch. I bring a hand over my arm over my face feeling a slight chill down there.
"A-AH!"
A very sharp pain makes me jump up and look down at her. She's also startled by my outburst, as I see one of her fingers near my scars.
"S...Sorry..I...I was just checking how bad they were..", Anita whispers with a scared tone.
I sigh and my head falls back down on the cushy pillow.
"Whatever, just don't poke them too hard. It's still pretty painful."
Anita breathes out a sigh, making a 'mhm' sound.
"I..I'm gonna apply some lotion the doc prescribed, okay?", Anita declares to which I just nod impatiently.
"I..It's gonna be cold..", she adds, with a hint of concern in her voice.
I go back to my default pose with the arm over my eyes and my head, listening to a small plastic tube being opened and a few shuffling sounds as Anita keeps the cap of the tube on the nightstand.
Anita squeezes a small amount of the lotion on Adrian's body, making him flinch. Adrian bites down on his teeth, soldiering through the pain. Anita brings her hands to his body, spreading out the ointment with a gentle touch. Feeling the uneven and rough skin, she feels even more guilty. Adrian moves with slight hitches and his breathing gets faster as Anita covers his whole torso with care. The room is filled with a quiet intimacy, as Anita continues her massage being very slow and precise. The scars both seen and unseen bear witness to the trials they've faced together. The night holds a chance for a new beginning of the couple's relationship.

I feel Anita's cold fingers touch my face, making me gasp with surprise. I open my eyes only to see a sorrowful grin on her face. I reciprocate her actions and hold her hand in return, making my hands a bit sticky in the process.
"You poor thing..", Anita whispers, making me blush slightly and my smile grow bigger.
Anita breaks the touch and goes out of the room. Moments later, she comes back with a vial of semi-transparent liquid. She douses her hands with 8-10 drops of the liquid, before rubbing it vigorously in between her hands, making it heat up. Adrian feels her tender hands touch his shoulders as Anita starts massaging him.
"W-What's this? I..I thought you're only gonna wrap me up..", I question her.
"It's a special oil, darling. And no, I just couldn't stand the sight of you being so tired and hurt. That's why I'm going to massage you, okay?", Anita resumes.
She moves her hands in circular motions around my shoulders, before poking into the tender muscles reaching as far as she can gently.
"A-Ah~", I whimper. Anita doesn't stop caressing my body, and brings her hands to my neck, carefully massaging my clavicles on both sides.
"I..I regret hurting you, okay?", Anita finally reveals.
I open my eyes and nod appreciating her sincerity with a soft smile before closing my eyes again.
"C-Can I try something new, honeybee?", Anita questions with a curious voice.
"Sure."
Anita grins mischievously and takes her slippers off, before making a grunt sound as she gets on the bed. She lays her knees beside Adrian's thighs, almost trapping him underneath him, with her on top of him. Adrian is still oblivious as he's almost on the edge of passing out with his eyes closed. The tranquil and warm tone of the room is making him dizzy.
My eyes are shot wide awake as I feel Anita's hands moving down my thighs, and there I see her.
On top of me.
"I..It's part of the erm...massage...", Anita purrs while blushing and looking to the side.
Sneaking a side eye at her lover, she resumes,
"Please...we both know that we need this..."
Hearing Anita's adorable yet sensual voice in this setting and feeling her on top of me is making my head spin.
