章 51: Monster

"Behold, the real demon of the mist! The wrath of the world, hahaha!" the witch proclaimed, reveling in the nightmarish transformation she had unleashed. The situation had taken a turn for the worse, and the team now faced a terrifying foe in Zabuza's transformed state.

The transformed Zabuza, now a terrifying force of nature, unleashed a deafening roar accompanied by a shockwave of chakra and wind that rippled through the entire area. Our heroes, caught off guard by the sudden surge of power, quickly raised their arms to shield their faces from the powerful gusts, struggling to maintain their balance against the force of the wind.

From her vantage point on her broom high in the sky, the witch observed Zabuza's transformation with evident delight. She commented on his increasing strength and hinted that this was just the beginning of his terrifying metamorphosis. Her wicked grin revealed her sadistic pleasure in the chaos unfolding below.

With her orders, the witch commanded Zabuza to kill everyone on the bridge. Zabuza, under her control, responded with another powerful roar and lunged at Tenzo with deadly intent. Tenzo, recognizing the imminent danger, summoned even larger wooden roots, creating a formidable protective barrier to shield himself from Zabuza's onslaught. At the same time, he instructed Sakura to ensure Tazuna's safety, realizing the gravity of the situation.

Haku, recognizing the urgency of the situation and knowing that they must stop Zabuza, swiftly performed hand seals with practiced speed. As a result, a mirror of ice emerged from the ground, effectively slowing down Zabuza's frenzied attack. Haku continued his jutsu, forming more seals that caused ice to sprout from the water under Zabuza's feet. Gradually, the ice encased Zabuza's body, immobilizing him. Haku, determined but sorrowful, whispered to the frozen Zabuza, promising that he would apologize once Zabuza woke up.

Meanwhile, Tenzo, still recovering from his surprise at Haku's ice release, maintained his focus. He raised additional wooden roots around Zabuza, further binding him and reinforcing Haku's efforts. However, signs of strain began to show on Tenzo's face, and he cautioned Haku to be cautious with their next steps.

Despite their combined efforts, Zabuza, fueled by his overwhelming rage and the witch's sinister encouragement, summoned a surge of strength and broke free from the bindings. The wooden roots shattered under his sheer force, and he stood once more, defiant. The witch, looking down from her broom, mocked them, suggesting that they would need far stronger restraints to overcome her influence on Zabuza.

As Naruto created multiple clones and sent them charging at Zabuza, hoping to overwhelm him, Zabuza displayed his exceptional swordsmanship. With a single swift motion of his blade, he effortlessly swept aside Naruto's clones, dispersing them like leaves in the wind. Determined to put an end to Naruto, Zabuza moved with astounding speed and unleashed a powerful punch aimed directly at the real Naruto. Tenzo, recognizing the imminent danger, urgently warned Naruto to evade.

Reacting quickly, Tenzo summoned his chakra and erected a thin wooden wall in front of Naruto. While the barrier weakened the force of Zabuza's punch, Naruto was still struck and sent hurtling through the air. He collided with one of the massive bridge pillars, the impact nearly causing it to crumble. Blood trickled from Naruto's mouth as he slid down the pillar, his consciousness fading.

Witnessing Naruto's dire condition and fueled by a surge of anger, Sasuke activated a second tomoe in his left Sharingan eye. He infused his sword with intense fire chakra, causing it to blaze with flames. With unwavering rage, Sasuke leaped high into the air and descended upon Zabuza, intent on delivering a searing strike. Tenzo, fearing Sasuke's recklessness, yelled at him to not be a foold.

Zabuza, however, proved to be incredibly agile despite his monstrous transformation. He deftly evaded Sasuke's fiery assault and delivered a swift kick that sent Sasuke tumbling through the air. Sasuke's life was saved only by Haku's quick thinking, who created an ice mirror to cushion Sasuke's from the kick. Despite this, Sasuke hit the ground hard, bouncing painfully, and was left on the verge of losing consciousness due to the brutal impact.

Sakura, witnessing Sasuke's perilous condition, couldn't contain her concern. She yelled out Sasuke's name in distress. However, in that vulnerable moment, the cunning witch seized the opportunity for revenge. With swift precision, she cast a genjutsu on Sakura, exploiting her shaken state of mind. Sakura, unable to resist the witch's genjutsu due to her shaken mind, succumbed to the illusion and fainted.

As the situation grew increasingly dire, Tenzo faced the harsh reality that it was now just him and Haku against the formidable Zabuza. He acknowledged the necessity to take drastic measures and, with a heavy heart, admitted that he couldn't hold back any longer. Tenzo declared his intent to kill Zabuza, knowing that it was a decision fraught with gravity. He apologized to Haku, indicating that there might be no other option.

Haku, understanding the weight of Tenzo's words and the desperation of the situation, looked at Tenzo with a sense of despair. He then turned to zabuza, telling tenzo to trust him. He hoped that Tenzo would entrust this critical moment to him and allow him to face the threat they now by himself.

As Tenzo sensed something in Haku's voice and saw the resolve in his eyes, Haku reassured him with a determination born of unwavering loyalty for his master. He stated that his sole purpose in life was to protect and save his master, Zabuza, and that if he couldn't accomplish that, it would be better for both of them to meet their fate together. His hands met in a ram seal, and Haku declared his most potent jutsu: the "Prison of Mirrors."

With Haku's announcement, mirrors began to manifest all around Zabuza, creating an intricate and bewildering maze of reflections and illusions. The Prison of Mirrors, a technique that Haku had honed to perfection, aimed to confound and disorient their formidable adversary, trapping him in a labyrinth of illusions and reflections. It was a desperate gambit to turn the tide of the battle and save not only their own lives but also the lives of their friends and allies on the bridge.

As Haku melted within the intricate network of ice mirrors, he called upon Tenzo for support. Responding swiftly, Tenzo made ram seals, causing thick wooden roots to surge forth from the ground. These roots entwined around Zabuza's limbs, restricting his movements and preventing him from breaking free.

Haku, with his mask concealing his emotions, addressed the witch with cold determination. Inside the maze of ice mirrors, multiple illusory images of Haku appeared, creating the deceptive illusion that he was everywhere at once.

The illusory Hakus raised their hands in unison, each holding an ice senbon, and launched them at Zabuza. However, to Haku's frustration and under the wicked laughter of the witch, the senbon failed to penetrate Zabuza's skin, leaving him unscathed and tauntingly unaffected by Haku's attack.

As Haku manifested an ice dagger and offered another apology, a blur of movement filled the mirrors. Bizarre wounds began to appear all over Zabuza's body, causing him to roar in pain and confusion. Haku, tears hidden beneath his mask, continued to inflict wounds on his beloved master.

Apologizing once more, Haku moved with incredible speed throughout the mirrors, inflicting large and painful wounds on Zabuza. The once-demonic Zabuza writhed in agony, falling to his knees and unable to stand.

Sensing an opportunity, Tenzo changed his seals into a dragon seal, causing the dark roots to pierce Zabuza from all angles, blood splattering in every direction. When the roots finally withdrew from Zabuza's body, the ice mirrors began to dissipate into ice dust.

Haku approached Zabuza, kneeling beside him and calling his name, expressing his apologies. However, the witch, indifferent to Zabuza's condition, questioned why Haku was crying.

Haku, his attention briefly diverted towards the witch, was taken by surprise when Tenzo's roots grabbed him. In confusion and surprise, he exclaimed, only to be forcefully pulled away from Zabuza. But it was too late. Zabuza, despite his earlier injuries, suddenly rose with incredible speed and managed to cut Haku's chest, causing blood to gush out.

Tenzo's expression turned bitter as he witnessed Haku's wound. Haku, now near Tenzo, displayed determination as he placed his hand over the wound and froze it, standing up with Tenzo's assistance. Meanwhile, Zabuza, who had healed rapidly and was steaming with power, let out a roar to the sky that seemed to convey both agony and fury.

As Zabuza, consumed by rage and desperation, seemed to plead for release from the witch's control, his words came out in a fragmented and distorted manner.

".....b....y.....f....m.....yo.....b..fr....me.....you....bitc.... free....ME..."

"Zabuza-sama ! Please do your best to resist ! "

Haku, sensing that Zabuza was on the brink of breaking free, called out to him in an attempt to reach his true self. However, the witch intervened, using a seal to regain control over Zabuza. Strange symbols began to glow on Zabuza's body as he became subservient to her will once more.

Haku and Tenzo, both exhausted and with depleted chakra, faced an overwhelming challenge. Haku, in a last-ditch effort, threw his broken mask onto his face, concealing his features. He turned to Tenzo and spoke urgently about a forbidden jutsu that could potentially seal them both along with the witch. He hoped that Tenzo could provide him with the time he needed to prepare for this dangerous and desperate plan.

As Tenzo, fatigued but determined, readied himself to assist Haku in launching a coordinated attack on Zabuza to divert his attention, the witch, sensing Haku's preparations for a forbidden jutsu, decided to intervene. She raised her wand and began charging a cursed ball, warning Haku to dodge it. However, her concentration was suddenly broken as a fireball from Sasuke soared towards her.

Sasuke, having recovered from his previous injuries, had decided to help Haku by protecting him from the witch's attacks. The fireball struck the witch's cursed ball, causing an explosive burst of flames and smoke. As the smoke cleared, Sasuke stood ready for another attack.

The witch, somewhat surprised by Sasuke's resilience, commented on it, implying that she had assumed he had fainted earlier. Sasuke, however, retorted with a smirk, "Pretty girls like bad boys that last," and continued to assault the witch with a barrage of fireballs, determined to keep her at bay and protect Haku.
