He could see the shock on her face. She clearly hadn't expected him to pull such a stunt. Trust was a delicate thing, and although she had proven herself trustworthy, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something else might happen if he let his guard down.

"What? Do you think I would just trust you over a few laughs we've shared?" he asked, smirking at her. "Come over, come and taste the meal."

Sighing almost inaudibly, she walked slowly to the table and took a spoonful of rice. She ate it unhurriedly and swallowed.

She raised both hands to show her innocence.

"Take another one," he urged. Alright, let him confess. The main reason for doing this was simply because he wanted her to feed him tonight. Don't ask him where he got the idea from; he couldn't explain why he seemed to be warming up to her so quickly.

"Have another spoon," he said after she had swallowed the second. "You know what? Come and sit here with me."
