Chapter 6: Foolish Sirin

Schicksal Headquarters.

A man with golden long hair was elegantly sitting in a chair. His long hair was tied into a single ponytail on his right shoulder, giving a dangerous vibe.

The man held a glass of red wine in his left hand, and the moon reflected in the wine, casting his face in a scene reminiscent of "raising a cup to invite the moon, becoming a party of three with the moonlight."

This man was the current Bishop of Schicksal, Otto Apocalypse. At this moment, he was on Schicksal's floating battleship, listening to the report from his secretary, Amber.

"My Lord Bishop, there's a disturbance at the Babylon Lab. The investigation indicates that two test subjects have escaped..."

"Oh?" Otto turned with interest, looking at the respectful Amber beside him. He asked, "Did the last two test subjects manage to escape?"

"...Yes, they did." Amber hesitated for a moment and confirmed.

"That's interesting. How did they manage it?" Otto asked curiously, and Amber immediately played the surveillance footage of the escape on the projection screen.

Otto watched the footage of the escape of Chase and Sirin with great interest, his face initially showing a smile like that of an innocent child discovering something interesting.

However, as Otto continued to watch, the smile gradually disappeared from his face. He pointed at the researcher confronting Sirin in the footage and asked Amber, "Why didn't this researcher open fire?"

Amber was also surprised by the question. She shook her head, indicating she didn't know. "This researcher is already dead," she added.

Otto smiled and instructed, "Amber, inform the Babylon Lab to examine the concentration of Honkai Energy in the lower levels."

"Yes!" Amber nodded and left to fulfill Otto's orders.

Otto had a suspicion, but it was not confirmed. Shortly after, Amber returned with the test results, and Otto's guess was proven correct. There was indeed an unusually high concentration of Honkai Energy residue in the lower levels, especially where the two test subjects had been...

"Amber, dispatch Patricia to capture the escaped test subjects. Also, send Theresa; it's time for my dear granddaughter to get some exercise."

"Yes, my Lord Bishop." Amber nodded and began to make the necessary arrangements.

After giving all the instructions, Otto enjoyed his red wine with interest, watching the two test subjects appear on the screen. He asked Amber, "What are the names of these two test subjects?"

....

"Chase, Sirin."

At this moment, in a house in Russia, a gray-haired woman was gently questioning the two children in front of her.

"Did I get it right?"

"Yes, Mrs. Alexandra."

Chase nodded. He and Sirin were sitting at a table, where some bread and milk were placed.

A fireplace was burning wood, making occasional crackling sounds. The warm firelight reflected on the walls, making the whole room much warmer.

Chase looked at Mrs. Alexandra, not rushing to get the food. Beside him, Sirin, despite being extremely hungry, behaved well, patiently waiting and looking at the bread and milk on the table with eager eyes.

"After a night of high-speed driving, the fuel in your vehicle has run out. You and Sirin have to choose to get out of the car and walk..."

"You had already considered this situation, not complaining much about it. Instead, you would abandon the car even if it had a lot of fuel. You couldn't guarantee that the car stolen from the Babylon Tower didn't have a tracking device."

"Now it's daytime, snow is falling, and it's very cold. You feel uncomfortable wearing only a white coat. Luckily, there's a military coat in the car. You let Sirin wear it, and you both walk on the escape route."

"The threads of fate tremble a bit. You are lucky; you meet a gray-haired woman willing to give you a ride. You agree."

(Alexandra Pic HERE: )

Alexandra, her hair spiraling at the ends on both sides, naturally falls on her shoulders. She is not a pursuer from the Tower, at least not like a pursuer from the Tower. No Tower pursuer, upon discovering two escaping disheveled test subjects, would choose to take them out of the radiation range of the Tower's influence.

And when infiltrating the Tower's system, Chase naturally knew that the Babylon Lab was the third-largest laboratory of Schicksal, providing the theoretical basis and data support for Schicksal's artificial Stigmata.

Schicksal would not allow him and Sirin to escape, especially after Sirin became a suspected Herrscher...

And Alexandra is a member of Schicksal, even less likely...

How could a member of Schicksal treat him and Sirin kindly, providing them with food and drink? It's good enough if she doesn't throw them into the Tower.

She is a kind and gentle lady, Chase concluded. At least, he couldn't see any issues with Alexandra.

With these thoughts, Chase looked at the control panel of the simulator. The talent "One Promise, a Thousand Gold" was still emitting a faint golden light, proving that it was still effective.

His wounds had been treated with the medical kit in Alexandra's home, and the bullets had been removed. Although the wound still hurt, there was no worry about infection, bringing Chase some relief.

Chase picked up a piece of bread and handed it to Sirin. The girl's eyes lit up with stars, and she happily started eating.

"Thank you for your hospitality, Mrs. Alexandra," Chase expressed his gratitude. "Without your help, I and Sirin wouldn't know how long we would have to endure in this snowy wilderness."

"Hehe," Alexandra chuckled. "I'm happy to see you both, so no need to be so formal."

"However, I'm curious. What are you two doing in such a remote place?"

"Sirin and I..."

"Cough, cough!" Suddenly, Sirin coughed, and Chase turned to see her choking. Tears were welling up in her eyes.

Chase sighed, handed her a glass of milk, and Sirin quickly took it, drinking a few sips before recovering. She looked gratefully at Chase, only to find him giving her a strange look.

"Brother, do you think I'm stupid?" Sirin complained.

"Yes," Chase helplessly shook his head. "I never expected I was hiding so well, yet Sirin still found out."

Sirin instantly turned into an angry little cat, clenching her fists and wanting to teach her annoying brother a lesson. Chase quickly dodged.

"Hehehe, the sibling relationship is really good," a voice came from the side. Initially excited, Sirin suddenly became dejected, blushing and bowing to Alexandra.

She had truly forgotten that there was a stranger present...

Now she couldn't continue to play and joke with her brother. She had to put aside these distracting thoughts.

'Am I really stupid, God?' she couldn't help but ask in her heart.

'...' God did not respond.
