Ye Heng heaved a heavy sigh after listening to what Tang Shi Yi had gone through. He did not expect that she would suffer so much after graduating.

The bright future that Tang Shi Yi was anticipating had crumbled just like that.

Because of the loan shark, Tang Shi Yi and her mother could not contact any of their relatives or friends as they did not want to implicate them.

Ye Heng could imagine how lonely it was for Tang Shi Yi to face everything on her own. 

Her mother has always been a housewife. Therefore, after her father passed away, Mother Tang had no one else to rely on other than Tang Shi Yi.

"You don't need to pity me," Tang Shi Yi spoke when she saw the way Ye Heng was looking at her. "I did suffer a bit in the past. But I think... everything is going well for me right now."

A faint smile appeared on Ye Heng's lips. "Shi Yi, you have always been so positive."
