Chapter 77: A Treasure Land Full of Gold
"Expelliarmus!" Neville's disarming spell followed. After training with Ted for so long, he became proficient in using this attack-type magic spell.
However, the two red curses were blocked by a vague shield around the mysterious man, an iron armor curse.
The man hurriedly turned around and stood up, raising his hand to release the spell.
"Hey!" Ron's thrown object hit him.
"Puff puff puff~" Yellow-green smoke rose up instantly.
"Ouch~" Before the man could recite the incantation, the stench hit his mouth and nose, almost making him vomit.
"Run quickly, we are no match." Neville pushed Jerry behind him and ran quickly, throwing things from his pockets.
It was a spherical object the size of a baby's head. Jerry sprinted rapidly, discarding items on the ground as he fled.
Professor Quirrell had just cast a "Ventus" spell to disperse the foul-smelling cloud, and the four little ones had already covered a distance of more than ten meters. The dense forest obscured visibility beyond this range.
In front of his path, four or five animated "cabbages" leaped towards him! Indeed, these were Neville's concoction - Celestial Bite Cabbages, known for their delectable taste and potent medicinal properties. They had a formidable bite and were exceptionally fierce!
"Keep the enemy three feet away!" Professor Quirrell cast another repelling spell, knocking away a few biting cabbages. However, after just two steps, he inadvertently stepped on a round object, causing sparks to crackle beneath his feet.
These were Jerry's crackling fireworks, which included the large dung egg thrown by Ron. They were all acquired from the Weasley twins and prepared by them. Surprisingly, they managed to exhaust the entire supply!
At this moment, Ted also became aware of the disturbance. Regardless of the cause, there were three successive explosions of red fireworks accompanied by screams!
"Idiot! Stop chasing! Leave quickly!" said Voldemort. Professor Quirrell, too, appeared to have been granted an amnesty and swiftly metamorphosed into another persona, making a hasty retreat.Top of Form

By the time Professor McGonagall and Snape arrived in the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid had already discovered the poacher—a dead one. When the three of them gathered, they wore furrowed brows, exchanging silent, perplexed glances. One thing certainty emerged—students would no longer be permitted to patrol the Forbidden Forest.
Within half an hour, Dumbledore had already learned the entire story.
If we set aside this matter, everyone would be confused. However, when you summarize the clues, it becomes easy to distinguish. Two groups of poachers present in the Forbidden Forest. The first group encountered Hagrid and had targeted various magical creatures, including the Silent Bird, the Moon-Crazy Beast, and other magical animals in the Forbidden Forest. They did not reject anyone who approached them.
The second group, led by a mysterious man in the shadows with advanced magical skills. When he met the first group of people, he directly confronted them by employing killing curses and killed on of them. The survivors fled, and alerting Hagrid to the imminent clash.
Realizing the odds were against him, the mysterious man relinquished most of his gains and fled.
The "reckless" Harleys and the four encountered the shadowy figure in the Forbidden Forest, whose objective was the unicorn's blood.
If not for Harley's unexpected intervention, the group might have faced immediate annihilation during their blood-drinking endeavors. Fortunately, Professors McGonagall and Snape intervened in time to save the unicorn from its impending demise.
Ted, who had returned to the castle and just lay down, also received a notification from the system:
"Ding~Complete the hidden mission [Rescue the Unicorn (Blue)], reward: 300 experience, card [Holy (Blue)]."
ˆ[Holy (Blue)]
Material card
This is a ball of holy light, far away from filth and ugliness, and makes people feel respected.
I don't know what the use of this material card is, but Ted is sure that this thing cannot be fused to [Troll (Blue)].
The Holy Troll? I feel offended hearing this name!
...
Ted hadn't anticipated that Professor Quirrell would encounter a group of magical animal poachers in the Forbidden Forest. Later, upon hearing Hagrid discuss these individuals, Ted gained some insight.
While poachers exist in the world, the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts was not traditionally their target. However, the significant changes brought about by the intersection of the stars have impacted this place. Now, many things in the Forbidden Forest are now highly valuable on the black market. For certain wizards or dark wizards who wander in the gray area, it has become a treasure land.
The intelligent races from other worlds, resulting from the conjunction of stars, are not all friendly. Some individuals might turn to a life of crime if faced with difficult circumstances. When the potential benefits are substantial or desperation sets in, people may disregard Hogwarts. As long as the rewards are significant, many are willing to take risks. The treasures of heaven, materials, and earth attract both virtuous and unscrupulous individuals alike.
If the benefits are substantial or if one is desperate, nobody will care about Hogwarts. As long as the rewards are sufficient, there are many people who are willing to take risks. The treasures of heaven, materials, and earth attract both virtuous and unscrupulous individuals alike.
If Hogwarts hadn't been the landlord, with Dumbledore in charge, the place would have been in chaos.
Hagrid also shared a little secret. Just the year before Ted and the others entered school, a magical animal smuggling incident occurred in Hogsmeade.
As mentioned earlier, Hagrid managed to "win" dragon eggs from the Pig's Head Bar because it was initially a small black market trading place.
In that incident, a wizard from America smuggled a half-grown ocelot. The danger level of this American specialty magical animal is "XXXXX," the same level as the fire dragon and the basilisk, indicating its immense power.
These creatures are not only natural hunters but also possess their own Legilimency, allowing them to see through the minds of their prey and ambush them to death.
The half-grown ocelot ran away from the smugglers, causing a scene in Hogsmeade. Eventually, it was captured by Kettleburn and Hagrid, the then Care of Magical Creatures professors, and is now kept deep in the Forbidden Forest. Upon hearing about that incident, Ron's second brother, Charlie Weasley, got involved.
It can be said that every generation of students has its own story.
In the Forbidden Forest, poaching has been increasing in recent years, making the job of a gamekeeper more onerous. However, ordinary smugglers and poachers will not come to the Forbidden Forest; it is still too dangerous. If one encounters an ocelot or two or three giant monsters, then it would be fortunate to escape with one's life— not everyone can Apparate, making it very dangerous.
The Forbidden Forest is home to large groups of eight-eyed spiders, tribes of centaurs, fey creatures like red hats, and magical animals with various dangerous abilities. The risks here are still too great. If one truly comes here to poach, they are indeed a desperado.
As a result, this desperate individual encountered Voldemort, making it truly an act of desperation. The confinement in the Forbidden Forest this time can be described as thrilling. Both Malfoy and Harley have endured enough hardships.
...
The next days were really honest. Pondering the nighttime poacher fight in the Forbidden Forest, with the crackle of spells on the tree trunks, brings back vivid memories.
Reflecting on the mysterious black figure lying on the unicorn and drinking blood, or the poacher who met his demise due to Avada, amplifies the gravity of the situation.
This is a life-threatening confinement, and they have no option but to be discreet in the following days, as the final exams are looming in half a month.
The final exams, the teacher's magic weapon, determines students' fate with each graded point. Exams, at any time, prove to be a formidable challenge for students. Not to mention addressing the issue of the Forbidden Forest and the school's stance.
Professors are up against a formidable enemy. Engaging in activities like sneaking into the Forbidden Forest or exploring the castle results in reprimands. Additionally, substantial amounts of homework are assigned after class, demanding two or three hours to complete, further consuming students' after-school time.
After this incident, Ted adopted a more low-key approach. He became less active in class participation and even avoiding communication with Professor Quirrell outside of scheduled lessons.
Professor Quirrell resembles a trapped beast now, presenting a considerable danger; it is wiser not to get involved in any activities with him. However, one afternoon, while Harley was still wandering around in the invisibility cloak, she overheard Quirrell crying - it appeared as though someone was threatening him!
"No! No... I really can't do it anymore, please... Okay, I can, I understand."
Harley mentioned that she heard Professor Quirrell crying sorrowfully from the other side of the corner and felt extremely aggrieved. Ron and Jerry concurred that it must be Snape! The only villain in the entire castle who would target the timid Professor Quirrell.
"He is extorting Professor Quirrell's salary, right?" This is Ron's guess.
Speaking of which, the salary of school professors is still very high.
Ted guessed that Voldemort might be forcing Quirrell to get the Philosopher's Stone.
...
As we enter the final review period, the atmosphere in the school intensifies. Numerous young wizards are scrambling to prepare, and the library is now bustling with activity. Even Ron and Jerry have become concerned, highlighting the gravity of the situation. In the blink of an eye, June has arrived.
"Ding~The talent [Knowledge of Other Worlds (Gold)] is triggered and discovers [Traveler's Delicious Recipes (Green)]."
"Traveler's Delicious Recipes (Green) records the delicious recipes collected by a traveler in Kalimdor. It requires 180 experience to redeem.
"Huh? There is this thing?" Ted was a little surprised.
Indeed, recipes can be regarded as a form of knowledge, wouldn't you agree? Whether you think it's useless or useful depends on your perspective. Well, let's redeem it up; I'd be interested in checking out some recipes.
As a flood of information entered his mind, Ted grasped the contents of this delectable cookbook. Believe it or not, it's genuinely practical—a collection of delicacies from Azeroth capable of replenishing physical strength and even producing special effects.
There are 8 recipes in total:
Delicious Chocolate Cake
Curiously Tasty Omelette
Redridge Mountain Stew
Tender Wolf Steak
Nightfin fish soup
