The faint songs of the small birds flitted from the treetops. The feeble breeze blew on her skin, making her shiver from the morning chill. Keagan roused from her deep sleep, her body resting as much as it could. However, she felt the moisture touching her feet up to her knees. She moved her leg and felt the water that sloshed underneath.
She pulled her battered body up and saw half of her legs covered in cuts and bruises. Her knees were doing the worst, the ugly bruises standing out in purple. It even hurt when she folded her legs to check her cracked toenails.
Keagan cried as she realized how vulnerable she was out there. She didn't even know where she was.
"…what happened…? I can't remember everything…" Keagan whimpered like a lost dog, seeing unfamiliar scenery everywhere she looked.
