章 65: Between Me and You

Moonlight painted silver brushstrokes across the bedroom, casting long shadows that danced with every beat of their hearts. Astra's eyes, catching the glimmer, held a teasing challenge. "Again?" she rasped, her voice husky silk against the hushed air.

Eydis's breath hitched, a tremor in her chest mirroring the war raging within. Desire, a ravenous beast, gnawed at her resolve. But the echo of an empty stomach, an ache that resonated with the echoes of their pleasures, held her tethered to the shore of reality, a fragile thread of pragmatism.

But as Astra's eyes, pools of molten twilight, devoured her whole, the thread snapped. "Dinner," she purred, her voice a silken caress, "can wait. Tonight," she leaned in, her breath warm against Eydis's ear, "my feast is you." The words, whispered promises hung like ripe fruit on the vine, each syllable a forbidden invitation.

Eydis felt her resolve crumble like sand beneath the waves. Their lips collided like thunder in the moonlight. In that moonlit embrace, the world outside – the ticking clock, the empty plate, the looming dawn – faded into oblivion.

All that remained was the intoxicating tide of desire, claiming them both, wave after delicious wave.

Bellowing rage tore through the chamber, the brilliant golden light around the figure contorting into a maelstrom of malice. "Who dares blind me?!" It roared, the voice of a thunderous in the hushed silence of the night.

The servant, kneeling before the storm, felt unease gnaw at his gut, a cold serpent slithering through his veins. "Is that the witch, Anastasia?" he choked out, his voice barely a whisper above the roar.

The figure's energy intensified, a suffocating pressure pressing down on the servant's skull. "Not violet flames," it hissed, the sound like metal scraping on bone. "White light, blinding my vision. Find it! Find them and bring them to me!"

With a final, earth-shattering crackle, the being vanished. The servant rose, his golden eyes burning with a newfound fervor. He clutched the list of students, his smile a predator's grin. "This girl," he murmured, tracing Astra's name with a fingertip, "this girl will be the key to change the world."

His gaze flickered towards the abyss, where the figure had disappeared. "And perhaps," he hissed, a hint of something darker creeping into his voice, "she will be the one to bring me the oblivion I crave."

Sunlight, dappled through linen, traced constellations on Eydis's skin, a celestial brushstroke against warm silk. A sigh escaped her lips as she stirred, the intoxicating fragrance of sandalwood clinging to her senses like a phantom kiss. Turning, she found Astra nestled against her back, a supple warmth pressing against her.

"Morning," Eydis murmured, her smile a slow bloom that reached her eyes. "Didn't know you were the cuddling type."

Astra huffed, a playful sound that danced between amusement and embarrassment. "Shut up," she mumbled, but her fingers, like whispered promises, trailed constellations across Eydis's back. "Breakfast?"

Eydis's lips curved into a playful purr, not yet ready to relinquish the warmth of Astra's side. "Human food then," she teased, her eyes like molten amber catching the sun's kiss on Astra's bare shoulder. "Unless, of course, you have another breakfast in mind?"

Astra rose, a reluctant goddess unfurling from her silken sheets, morning light sculpting her form like a sculptor's dream. Damp strands of hair clung to her skin, the intoxicating scent of her shampoo swirling in the air, a heady potion that made Eydis's heart skip a beat. Amber eyes darkened, mapping the forbidden landscape of the celestial body before her, each curve a beacon in the rosy flesh that pulsed with an unspoken invitation. Every remembered touch, a phantom fire against her fingertips, ignited a wildfire in her veins. Her hand twitched as she reached for Astra, a silent plea in her gaze.

Astra's cheeks flushed under Eydis's unabashed adoration. Meeting her eyes, a playful glint danced in her amethyst depths. "As much as I'd love to," Astra purred, her voice a low, silken tremor, "our stomach needs more than just…fluids."

"Breakfast can wait," Eydis murmured, her voice husky with a hunger that went beyond food. Her stomach growled, a low rumble echoing the fire that flickered in her veins.

She watched as Astra dressed, her movements deliberate, a silent dance that fueled Eydis's smothering desire. When Astra met her eyes, a knowing smile played on her lips. "Stay here," she murmured, planting a kiss like a butterfly alight on her forehead, "I'll bring you breakfast, sweet enough to sate both appetites." With a smile that held the promise of a thousand shared mornings, Astra slipped away, leaving behind a trail of heat and longing that hung heavy in the air.

Eydis snuggled deeper into the sheets, the imprint of Astra's warmth still clinging to them. Her heart throbbed with a mix of endearment and a pang of loss, a melody echoing the hunger in her own eyes. The memory of Astra, her sensual skin still glistening from morning shower, baring herself as she slipped back into their shared bed, pulling Eydis in a tight embrace, sparked an inferno of desire within Eydis's core.

The ache in her bones was a delicious reminder of yesterday's inferno. Stretching, wincing at the protest of her muscles, she stumbled towards the shower, craving the icy kiss of water to soothe the embers still smouldering beneath her skin.

Back in the room, a feast awaited. Her breath hitched as she saw the spread, colourful and fragrant, courtesy to Natalia. "Did she know?" Astra muttered, the playful curve of her lips hardening into a frown.

Eydis chuckled, her gaze lingering on the lace choker that adorned Astra's neck, a tantalising glimpse of pale skin beneath. "Maybe," she teased, "Does it bother you?"

Astra snorted, a playful glint in her gaze. "Her eyes sparkle too much," she declared, snatching the cup and draining it in one graceful swallow. Eydis's eyes darkened with a smouldering heat that followed the line of Astra's neck, trailing over the ridiculously alluring lace choker.

Croissants abandoned, their hunger sated, Eydis sat on the bed, her fingers weaving through Astra's silky silver strands. Astra nestled contentedly in her lap, a sigh escaping her lips like a whispered secret. "Do you prefer it dark?" she asked, her voice a whisper, already painting pictures of raven hair framing Astra's face like the goddess of the night, writhing beneath her touch.

A flicker of pain crossed Astra's eyes, a brushstroke of vulnerability against the winter of her usual demeanour. "It reminds me of her," she murmured, her voice laced with a tremor that resonated in Eydis's heart. "My mother. I used to braid her hair."

The memory hung heavy in the air, a ghost of love and loss. Eydis leaned in, her lips brushing against Astra's like a promise unspoken. The kiss that followed was a torrent of desires, a dance of tongues and teeth that set the room ablaze.

Silks pooled around their ankles, the air thick with the scents of lavender and sandalwood and gasps that echoed in the stillness. They were lost in each other, a symphony of touch and moans, a world where time held its breath.

Maybe just one more taste. Or two. But who could keep count when the world outside faded, leaving only the fire that burned between them?

"Next round's in Inferno," Eydis murmured, her kisses tracing a delicate path across Astra's bare shoulders, savouring the contented sigh escaping the older woman. "Would a place like that be too much for you?"

Astra's eyes fluttered shut, basking in the brunette's tenderness, but when they opened, a flicker of longing replaced the contentment. "I have no attachments," she murmured, the melancholy ringing true, "my home is in the company I keep."

The words struck Eydis like a rogue ember, sparking a flicker of annoyance. She wasn't one to feel jealous, but this was uncharted water. "You need better company than Damien, have you two ever…?" Eydis asked, anxiety evident in her voice.

Amethyst eyes snapped open, a flicker of frost extinguishing the warmth in their depths. "He's lucky I didn't end his life for what he did," she spat, her voice raw with unhealed wounds. "Loss may be a casualty of war, but the scars are deeply personal."

Eydis's lips brushed against the icy tear that clung to Astra's lash, a silent apology for the unspoken accusations. She pulled Astra close, the familiar warmth of the older woman a balm to her soul. But a question, sharp and barbed, danced on her tongue. "The witch at Silverkeep, was that you?"

Astra inhaled, a tremor running through her. "Yes," she whispered, the word a bitter ash on her tongue. "Damien helped, he moved my body."

Eydis's gaze darkened, regret etched on her face. "That night… no wonder you hated me."

Astra leaned in, a thousand unspoken forgivenesses in her kisses. After a while, she pulled back, her amethyst gaze searching Eydis's amber depths. "I would have done the same," she murmured, "I wasn't exactly Lady Sunshine and Roses."

Eydis growled, the sound raw and primal. "But still… the thought of anyone harming you…" The words fell away, replaced by a fierce kiss that spoke volumes of unspoken anger and fierce protectiveness.

Astra melted into it, her own desires igniting beneath the fire of Eydis's touch. "I can't die anyway," she murmured, her voice hoarse with passion, "Just fade and rise again. A gift, and a curse."

As they parted, a mischievous glint sparked in Eydis's eyes. "Speaking of curses," she asked, "Did you curse my mind? My thoughts are an open book!"

Astra chuckled, the sound husky and laced with desire. "No curse," a mischievous glint sparkled in her amethyst eyes. "That reminds me, Indigo was expecting us yesterday. But… things happened."

Eydis smirked, her tongue darting out to lick her lips. "Things, delicious, messy things."

Astra growled, a low rumble that sent shivers down Eydis's spine. "Far too delicious, and not nearly enough." They crashed together, flesh against flesh, the world beyond their door dissolving into a haze of heat and desire.
