章 489: I'm not wasting my time, I'm running out of it

There wasn't too much progress to report on.

She would have liked to say she found many promising books, or even that she'd found the book that definitely had it and all that was left was to go through it.

But so far the choices were not particularly impressive.

The piles of books that looked potentially useful and non-useful to her current goals had expanded greatly despite that.

Unfortunately, it also looked like something of a warzone in the library as a consequence when one of her husbands finally came around to find her.

Alexander stared at the battlefield of books spread out all around her for a long moment.

He offered her an extremely bland, 'What on earth have you done in here?' sort of expression.

She shifted, dropping her gaze from his face down to the book in her hands.

And then immediately moved it to the 'not really sure but maybe possibly relevant' pile.

...It was a book of poems, after all.
