"What's wrong?"
Ruth Dawn looked at William Cole with puzzlement. Being an intelligent woman, she immediately figured out what's amiss. "It was Granny Hull, wasn't it? Is there a problem with the bird's nest soup?"
William Cole nodded, "There's a type of lysine enzyme in your body, which is very unusual. If a normal person were to consume it, it wouldn't be a cause for concern."
"However, if a pregnant woman ingests it, it would react with the pregnancy hormones in her body, causing her to lose clarity of thought."
"That's why many pharmaceutical companies under the national brand and those with approval reference numbers, prohibit pregnant women from using medicines containing this substance."
"There are many drugs that contain the lysine enzyme. If Granny Hull mixed this into the bird's nest soup that she fed you, there would be no way to hold her accountable."
"Even if we confronted her about it, she would vehemently deny knowing anything about it. What could we do then?"
