Once Ruth Dawn had eaten the compressed biscuits and vitamins, William Cole examined her pulse and confirmed that she was fine.

She was just a bit shaken up by the nerve-racking events of the past few days and the recent fall into the dissolution cavity.

What was needed now was rest.

William wrapped Ruth in his arms, and sat on a small platform by the edge of the river in the cave, his gaze fixed on the turbulent water.

Earlier, William had found a handwritten note in the supply package left by Minnie Wright. It suggested that there was a note in every supply package and that Minnie had sent a rescue team into the caves.

During the rescue, supplies would be continuously sent into the caves.

William roughly estimated that they had been in the dissolution cavity for about four to five hours, but they'd only found one package.
