It was almost midnight when Song Xiaoyue finally saw a tall figure approaching her. Her heart almost leaped out of her chest in excitement, but nervousness rendered her unable to call out to him.
Walking with the light behind him, his face was obscured, but only a man as tall as him could be Ye Ge, right?
She felt so nervous - how should she address him?
River Gentry? Ye Ge?
It didn't seem right to call him by his nickname River Gentry just yet, so "Ye Ge" it would have to be.
As he approached, Song Xiaoyue gathered the nerve to call out to him, but he suddenly took a couple of fast steps and arrived in front of her. He gave her a respectful bow and said, "Good day, Miss."
Song Xiaoyue was perplexed. This voice… it didn't belong to Ye Ge.
Ye Ge's voice was typically low, husky, and steady, but the man in front of her was not him.
It was then that the man raised his head, the dim light from the lantern illuminating his face and Song Xiaoyue could see clearly: it was Wu Yang.
